those are routable protocols

you NEED to do one of the 4 sets of ip ranges that windows doesn't steer you out of your local network to the internet

set both devices to something in

192.168.1.xxx range

IE:

192.168.1.30 ip of pc
255.255.255.0 subnet
192.1681.1 gateway

192.168.1.40 ip of printer
255.255.255.0 subnet
192.168.1.1 gateway

if a single wire from pc to printer
or
2 wires with a switch (NOT A ROUTER!)
you can leave gateway blank

set ip's on both devices, power printer off, then back on

do the same for the pc
then
START>SETTINGS (THE GEAR)
NETWORK & INTERNET>ADVANCED NETWORK SETTINGS>ADVANCED SHARING SETTINGS>ENABLE NETWORK DISCOVERY & FILE AND PRINT SHARING

SET IP OF PRINTER IN SETUP on your rip

Do it as written in the service manual. You will need the Peck software to retrieve the parameters from the old board and write it in the new one. (or do all the necessary adjustments manually)

Note you can't get new genuine boards anymore. Digiprint have some they say are genuine, but pretty sure they are Chinese copies and around $1500

Jumping back in, life has been kicking my but the last few months, thankfully I been able to keep the printer in working order still unable to complete a print though. I’m located in New Jersey and I saw that there’s a shop that I can ship my main board to and they will fix it and send it back has anyone worked with them? I want to get my printer fixed but I’m torn between trying to fix or selling to someone who knows more than I do and saving up for a newer printer.

They have a good reputation but are very expensive. Its not a guaranteed repair though as not every board can be fixed depending on why it has failed.

The transistors don't effect the ethernet. I mean I have repaired some with ethernet problems. It is normally broken traces within the board that you can replace with point to point wiring, but it is a pain !

wow what relistaclly are my options? It sounds like spending the $500 is hit or miss and a new main board seems to be going for about $2k but all seem to say that a professional is required as the board is empty?

Or look on ebay for a good working used board. If you wanted me to look at the board to see if it is repairable feel free to DM me ( a lot cheaper than $500 :) )
