if there's a need for 60" then L335/365, otherwise the L115 is a good bang for the buck or a L315 (though the price difference between the L315 and the L335 is negligible).
1360Z is what we use here. 8518 is "clear" but it's a little yellowish. been using some off brand PanoRama Protect (since the Avery has been unavailable) lately which has worked fine as well.
Color management settings changed in illustrator or flexi? are they spot colors? It looks to me like they may have been printing as spots on one printing and built CMYK/RGB on the other.
we used a lot of 651 for cut work for vehicles when we acquired another shop because that's what he had been using. We've migrated the majority of that to 751. Never really had 'issues" with the 651 though our installers like 751 better and it should last longer.
This sounds like he's got a crossover cable between the printer and whatever's running the software. I can't tell but it sounds like the cable's been replaced but still seems sketchy (like Cat5 vs Cat5e or Cat6). Routing through a switch with some good cables like netsol said sounds like a good...
Ahhh... the use of kraft paper is to keep the adhesive from the overlam from getting everywhere and getting things all stuck if you're not going roll to roll (or running backside laminate in the same pass). I've never physically tried this but if you precut laminate to something close in size...
