If you want museum-like photo quality prints, go for the S80. If high quality photo print suffice the S40 or S60 will be more than fine. If you have the space and some extra $$$, I'd go for 2 S40's for speed and versatility instead of just 1 S60 (they are exactly the same machine except for the...
ContraVision 70/30 with Avery DOL1360Z overlaminate or any other good optically clear overlaminate. Leave at least an ⅛" free all around to seal it with ½" strip of DOL .
Opposite of the S40600, the S60600 has a dryer unit over the output's heat platen. It's true that a too dry environment could either increase the "speed" of the drying and/or increase static with this dryer pushing dry and hot air over the output; both possibly creating the banding. I'd stick a...
I have an S40600 (4 yrs old) which is the same as an S60600 except with only 1 head and no dryer. I mostly print solid colors in 6 and 8 passes (bi-directional) on different vinyls from 3M, Avery, Metamark using Onyx-12 RIP Centre and Dashboard profiles without such issues most of the time. I...
GREAT purchase ! Excellent print quality at lower passes than the others (IMO). Overall great quality printing and color rendition for a CMYK only printer. Gradients turn out very, very well. In opposition to another post, media waste is very minimal. If you are not one of those willing to pay...
Wate of material on the front end ??? Is it because you attach your media to the take-up BEFORE you start printing ? Otherwise I don't see why there would be a media waste of more than a few inches...
Absolutely clean area, vaccumed, mopped, air fans and ducts closed shut plus a couple of large surface humidifier put up close to your working area. Make sure the windows are super clean and that your vinyl and backer are dust free. Cover the floor if need be. make sure your clothes are dust and...
We use IJ35 a lot (with 8509 lam). There could be a couple of issues here and as mentionned by Gino and JB, curing and prepping are part of them. First, you need to know when the walls were painted and with what. We let latex paint cure for at least 10 full days (in moderate humidity levels)...
We use a lot of 3M IJ35 on our S40600 and get very good output even at 6 passes with the profile supplied by Epson/Onyx ... When using Briteline or other similar low end vinyl (that's not very often) we use the same IJ35 profile and get very good results too.
May be a dumb question but it needs to be asked: is the printer set up as single strike or double/triple/quad strikes ? Multiple strikes mode is for backlit (usually) and gives out darker output.
