  1. Looking for profiles for Mutoh 1624 to use with Wasatch

Have you tried Fellers yet? I'll check also.
  2. Looking for input on ink

my suggestion is to find out which company offers great service when the deification hits the oscillation, because inevitably it will. Weather OEM or aftermarket problems rear their heads, and when they do you want a customer service oriented company that stands behind their product. I can...
  3. Looking for input on ink

Been to their facility and saw a machine that had fired billions of times with their ink and was being monitored for any issues to the printer head, no issues at all. They are a Roland vendor and test their ink extensively on the Roland printers, have no fear. Great guys with tons of...
  4. source for spring banner frame like lind with flip cover aluminum edges

    Something like this perhaps? https://www.creativebanner.com/ProductDetails.asp?id=&item=2991&cat=Signage
  5. vertical banner stands

I second Creative Banner, their Tri-X are great. Just have to play with the size of the actual banner a bit on a few of the sizes as the tension was wrong, but hundreds sold by us with zero issues so far.
  6. Is anyone using 3rd party inks with a RX7 head (ie VSi and (I think) all new Rolands

Not trying to sell for them or hog your thread. I have no affiliation with their company. I have used over 6 different 3rd party inks, and this has been the closest to OEM as far as UV resistance, no new profiles needed and most importantly how it acts in the printers as far as maintenance. I...
  7. Is anyone using 3rd party inks with a RX7 head (ie VSi and (I think) all new Rolands

Is it perhaps a DX7 head? I am running Nazdar inks through our Mutoh 1628 models with no issues. Have been doing so for four months now, showing no signs of any problems. I believe the two printers, Mutoh and Roland have the same DX7 print heads.
  8. Considering new Mutoh 1624...

Ours seem to have bi-chromatic banding, (lawnmower banding). Our first one had a tracking issue on long runs, the banner material skewed causing problems. That has since been worked out, still working on the bi-chromatic banding. Make sure your rip software allows for five droplet size...
  9. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Overload condition in CR motor

Just replaced a motor on one of our machines today. It started out a squeak and then froze up. You can definately tell if its the motor if you spin it by hand with the belt off. Caused a lot of CR Errors in the past few days. And belts are cheap.
  10. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Overload condition in CR motor

Have you inspected the CR Belt for fraying or broken belts within the entire piece? Have you run an endurance test within the utility mode?
  11. printhead leaking mutoh spitfire

I modified our 1604 dampers to the 1614 dampers, not sure if that can be done on your model? Also lowered the tanks as far as I could and put less ink into them. Instead of a liter in the tanks, the new max is 3/4 of a liter. Not sure of your particular problem, but these little things helped...
  12. printhead leaking mutoh spitfire

Are you running a bulk ink system? maybe too much pressure.
  13. Anyone using bulk ink tanks on a VS540? Problem with micro-bubbles?

I have not heard of "micro bubbles", except in my micro brew. The system I use is a 1.5 liter tank x 4 that sits on top of the machine. The spout is near the bottom of the tank which allows any impurities to sink to the bottom and not go through the line, due to the fact that the spout...
  14. Anyone using bulk ink tanks on a VS540? Problem with micro-bubbles?

I run bulk ink on 20 printers here with no "micro bubble" issues to speak of. I run Mutoh instead of Roland, but the same print heads none the less. All single head machines. 1604 1614 1624 DX6 and DX7 print head machines. Triangle just put a bid in for our ink business, no mention of issues...
  15. Valuejet 1604 print problems, encoder issue?

PF disc. Use 90% isopropyl and a lint free cloth. Release the pinch rollers and spin using the center hub of the PF holder spinning it in a direction that the alcohol rag spins away from the sensor and not directly into it to allow alcohol to somewhat dry on the disc before it enters the...
  16. VJ 1204 Banding problems.

Run the printhead over to the left door, open and inspect the head. Look for hairs or other obstructions. I use a swab and solution to wipe once per side of the swab in the direction of the wiping motion. Then run a Little Charge, inspect nozzle test. If that fails, do a head soak. No need...
  17. Mutoh cleaning cartridge solution safe to use on mimaki

I've used numerous other brands to clean our machines with no issues.
  18. It's not banding... but what is it?

Could also be deflected nozzles. Just because all nozzles are present, doesn't mean they are all directed where they should be.
  19. New print head - black missing vj1614

I would use some solution on the maintenance station and pull the two small lines off of the drain area and work all the gunk out, then run some cleanings to help clear the lines, with solution in the capping station prior to running the cleanings. As for the air leak, keep at it and use a...
  20. New print head - black missing vj1614

Can you print a utility mode nozzle check? That should tell you a lot. Also are you missing the nozzles on one bank of black or both? Could be the ribbon cable or board, but let's narrow this down.
