So... There's a new contender in the lot. The Colex SXC1717. The bed is a bit bigger than the Summa F1612, there is more router options and price seems similar. I've red on another post that software wise the summa is ''better'' than colex. Again, I've never had a flatbed cutter, so I'm not even...
FYI, here is an answer I've got from my dealer. He forwarded it to me.
About 6 months ago we did release a revised carriage board which is included on all new machines since 6 months ago.
We are planning to release an upgraded version of our standard Kress router in the future but the release...
I'm getting it from ND. Customer service from Grimco is horrible here. I assume their tech is located in Toronto, but I will check this out. I assume if I buy a new machine, I will have the new board version. I hope so.
Interesting. I assume it will fit on their current table? It would be a...
Our main business is murals. We always suggest a vector file but most of the pictures are taken from shutterstock. We use Topazlbas Gigapixel with their other software to enlarge the pictures. So far, they are the best we use. The only downside is you can scale over 600%.
we do ton of floor decals. You have to use a non-slip laminate. The best we tried so far is Drytac polar grip for the vinyl and Drytac floortex 200 laminate.
Thanks all for the comments/feedback. I'm in Canada and the price variance between the two router option is a bit under 18k$ (8694$ vs 26647$). PHILJOHNSON Thanks for the document. I understand the benefits and variants but does the difference justify the 18k$ différence?
I also have a small...
I'm upgrading all my machines. I currently use Caldera but the dealer I trust more for my next printer sell only Onyx. For aftersale purpose, should I switch to Onyx? I'm used to Caldera, really like it and would prefer stay with it. My concern is if I have a problem, maybe my dealer won't be...
I'm considering the Summa F1612 to mainly use it to cut rolled stock but also rigid material that will use a knife. I will probably add the router in the future. The router will be mostly use to cut acrylic and mdf. My rep told me it won't cut aluminum. Is it true? If not, how thick I could go...
Exactly my point. Even if I calculate shipping and everyting, with an offshore machine, I could change it every year for 7 years and still save money vs a trotec. If it was only a 30% variance, I would definitely go with trotec.
In my case, if I go with a big brand, I will go with trotec. They have an office near me and the feedbacks I've got around is awesome. Epilog have a great reputation too, but the service part is far away from me. I understand che offshore brand will probably have a questionable customer service...
Hello folks,
I'm doing my homework about laser cutter/engraver. I'm looking for a 36x48 bed that would be able to cut acrylic up to 1/2in and maybe very occasionally 1in thick. Other than that, it will be mostly used to make sign with 2 ply material. I've looked at big brand like trotec but...
I have the exact same list. I would be interested too to have feedback from SharpCut. I never operate or own a machine like this. So I'm not sure what I should look or ask. The three brand have good dealers in my area. But only ESKO sell and service direct. I don't know if it's a ''plus value''.
We are moving in december and we are looking for new equipment. Right now the Kala mistral 1650 laminator and Kala XY cutter is on our list. We mostly do murals and interior stuff.
Due to a lack of space in our current shop, we did not had a laminator. We only needed it maybe once or twice a...
Yes. The order have not been placed yet because we are looking for a new location. But our list right now is 2X HP W800, Kala mistral 1650, a summa s2 with tangential knife and currently evaluation some possibility for a XY cutter (checking for a Chinese brand) and flatbed application table...
Our main business is wallpaper and we make a decent margin on them. But with the new equipment, we will be able to open a hole new segment and speeding our current process. I'm pretty good with tracking the number to calculate the final margin (I also time myself on each job) and evaluating what...
