  1. Brick Vinyl Removal and Install

Is going over the existing vinyl an option? Seems like it's in decent shape.
  2. How Should I Apply?

Exactly. Regardless of how stubborn/dull the customer is, don't let them dictate what kind of materials you'll use. Vinyl on the glass or a 3mm ACM panel installed over frames.
  3. Can I get some assistance from experienced people?

Welcome from Winnipeg! You'll find lots of good info here - don't hesitate to create new threads with questions that you have. Feel free to PM me if you'd rather. I'm no expert but have been doing this for a while. Cheers.
  4. Suggestions Best speed for Mimaki UCJV300-160

We have a custom built 600x600 profile that we use for 99% of our jobs. When we can get away with it and need a bit of extra speed we have a 300x900 profile we use, but not very often. Which RIP are you using? Inkset & configuration?
  5. Suggestions Do you sell auction paddles and rally fans?

Nice promo vid! Love the part about not sorting them........ would be a huge time drain to get them all in order and obviously kill any efficiency gained by fast printers and flatbed cutters.
  6. Opinion Name this banner material!

Thanks guys, I've passed this off to a local dye-sub printer.
  7. Opinion Name this banner material!

Any ideas regarding the material in the attached picture? Looks almost like a jersey type material. For reference, banner is 3' across in the picture. Bonus points: Any chance of getting something like this that can be solvent or UV printed, or is this generally only a dye-sub type deal...
  8. Everyone knows me as the ADA Sign Lady

Welcome from Canada, where the ADA codes are (almost) non-existent when it comes to signage. I feel like this will eventually be a great opportunity for sign companies with ADA capability once the standards catch up.
  9. concerned about solid black banners needing to gas out before mounting in banner stand Epson s80600L

Not that I'm trying to convince you to get a Mimaki UV printer, but we print our retractable banner inserts on our UCJV on PET GB 13oz banner. Works great. Ultraflex and most banner "brands" have a version of it.
  10. Customer has no idea what he wants but wants it now - Rant.

Ah, I found it! Hope Neato doesn't mind me sharing. This specifically pertains to logo design but could easily be adapted to suit vehicle wraps. Hope this helps, good luck with the difficult customer(s)! (And no, you're not the one that's in the wrong here. That customer sounds painful to...
  11. Customer has no idea what he wants but wants it now - Rant.

Time to spend 10 minutes and come up with a customer design form. I'm sure there are examples online but we filled one out when we had our logo designed. I can try to dig it up if you like, we had received it from Neato. What do you like, colors, themes etc etc and make all fields mandatory...
  12. Car toppers?

Man, those are pretty cheap! Let me know if those don't work out Chris, I might have a local contact who has some kicking around. Used to print changeable ads for them a few years back.
  13. I read all these ways 'to' and 'not to' do things in signland......................................................

Interesting. Hadn't thought of this ripple effect from the EV market. My friend that owns a tire shop will be pleased.
  14. new to printing and cutting with vinyl express q42 and roland bn20a

As mentioned, you'll be limited to Roland cutters if you're just working with Versaworks. With that said, doesn't the BN20 have a built in cutter?
  15. What's the way that produce our canvas paper?

Not to be a smart-ass, but do you think they would rather buy Chinese equipment than Chinese materials? On that note, to the OP, check most of the parts on your printers etc - guess what, they're also made in China.
  16. What's the way that produce our canvas paper?

I don't think you'll find much information here regarding manufacturing canvas. In the same way that you buy ink from the manufacturer, you'll likely find that it makes more sense to buy pre-made canvas rolls than to re-invent the wheel and figure out how to manufacture it yourself. Is it...
  17. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

Awesome, thanks for the info!! I didn't see anything about the Omtech pro on their website, but the price point of the old/non-pro models is pretty sweet. I'll do some more research and see if this is something we should consider adding. Thanks again for your insight. :thumb:
  18. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

Some good info here. I'm starting to lean towards getting a cheap chinese laser to play/tinker with and learn the ropes at a lower entry cost. Any brands/tips to check out/stay away from? Ideally looking to play around with laser cut acrylic letters and maybe some tactile stuff just for fun.
  19. Suggestions Adding slitters to roll laminator?

I'm not too concerned about accuracy, despite our ancient GBC laminator tracking pretty damn straight. This is why we still use it as our main laminator and why we have a brand new Mimaki laminator sitting in the corner, collecting dust. (Anyone wanna by a like-new, Mimaki laminator??) A full...
  20. Sequential Numbered Small Signs

Agreed, more details/effort required to make proper recommendations. How are the signs intended to be used? Interior/exterior? Is it just sequential numbering required on the signs or any other details?
