Yeah that's crazy. How much are those printers? How little training did they provide for a quarter million dollar machine?
Rants aside, Onyx has some great videos online: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0LHAaeqj26r43CfPYUtAgQ
Here is a good one specifically related to Cut workflows...
Definitely doomed from the start, and along every step of the way. (Same job caused our router to go kamikaze on the dust boot.............fried our shop vac............... etc etc etc)
I originally thought of using Z clips, and then they sent the very specific specs on what they needed.
The...
Likely the culprit. Turn off all ventilation, spool off a few feet and see if it still persists. Increase humidity, etc.
We have a sheet of foamcore that sits over our media at the back of the printer to avoid dust contamination.
I'm sorry to hear that, thanks for letting us know Paul.
I always admired Fred and all his wisdom, was one of those old-school sign guys that I would have loved to meet in person.
My condolences to his family and friends.
Yeah I don't know why I didn't think to use 467 in the first place, we've got a giant log of it. I'm going to test it out and see how it performs.
The plot thickens........after several phone calls with the customer yesterday it turns out they're not even using a french cleat on the wall -...
I just talked to our adhesive distributor, they recommended Xcel Instant Grab, or VHB. We've got a ton of 3M 4496 foam tape that we're going to experiment with here.
Is this a fact? Should lever be left down when not in use? I always thought this could cause pressure points on the pinch rollers. I did notice our S60600 only ran an automatic clean once I loaded media yesterday.
Long story short, we made a few showroom display panels for a client last week....built to their specs.
Biggest panels were roughly 45" wide x 83", vinyl mounted to 1/2" thick gator foam. They spec'd a 32" wide wedge bracket/french cleat on the back, and spec'd that it be made out of the 1/2"...
We were routing some 1/2" gator foam this morning (anyone else cut this stuff with a router?) and somehow the dust boot jammed when doing a sheet cut and the bit actually carved out a chunk of it.
I can't wrap my head around how this is even possible. Other than the boot being chewed up and...
THIS. I still remember the day we realized just how much printed colors shift from the back of our shop to being outside in the real world.
Referring to the daylight swatch reference page in Pantone book is great for this. (For those who don't have a light box)
It's shocking to see greys go...
Yikes, that's a huge shift.
I actually just had something similar happen on our S60600 (2 months old) with a grey as well.
Printed hundreds of swatches to match something existing on a customer's site, got a sample approved and 1 week later that same swatch (not re-ripped or re-loaded or...
