  1. 54” Summa S2-140T

Problem not solved yet.... I now see that any old file I open to reprint and cut has the cut info included in the file, which means just about anything outside of new files has to have this secondary step taken to go in and turn off Flexi info to allow the Summa to control the cut info.... There...
  2. 54” Summa S2-140T

I had a technical guy show me in Flexi... There are 2 places where you can set these preferences..why? I have no idea. One is in production manager where I knew to go but the one that overides everything is in the rip and print menu...it looks identical so I am not sure what the other one is...
  3. 54” Summa S2-140T

I have a question about the plotter... I have up till now just cut printed graphics and it is awesome...but today I thought lets just get it to cut regular vinyl. I set the weight up on the unit itself and then when it went to cut it was shearing right through the vinyl and I can see that the...
  4. Not sure if this is a Summa issue or a Flexi issue

I now realize that it is much faster and easier to just do it on the cutter. Thanks guys, BTW this new T series is awesome...finds every mark no problem so far...very pleased as my old d-140 has been trying to kill me with frustration for the last 10 years!!
  5. How to lock in registration mark distance

I have no idea how I did it before but have spent far too much time trying to find where I can lock in the registration mark distance from one another. I had it set to the maximun 19" for the longest time, then I hada new Summa installed and I think the tech did something and every job now goes...
  6. Credit Cards

I was always pretty sure when you signed up with processing companies that part of the contract was that you do not charge a fee to use credit cards. Maybe it has changed, but sometimes I am relived when someone uses a credit card as I know I won't be chasing money later on which if you think...
  7. Not sure if this is a Summa issue or a Flexi issue

I like the idea of running my vinyl cutter for printed graphics with the blade weight controlled by Flexi as to adjusting it on the cutter itself. I have always done it that way with my old machine and for whatever reason feel comfortable doing it that way...however I have tried a few times and...
  8. Finally received my Summa s2 140 t series plotter....awesome

WOW! I can't believe I have been suffering with my old Summa D140 all these years. This new plotter cuts fantastic and reads all the marks so far. Just curious if anyone out there running this plotter on Flexi can explain to me how to make the new plotter my default when sending print/cut...
  9. Does Flexi not have a save function where I can save "SELECTED" as an option?

It seems to me I have to save everything on the screen and I don't want to do that. Is there a different function to do that?
  10. Teflon cutting strips for Graphtec

you cant lift the strip and rotate it as it is basically a thin piece of whatever they are calling teflon with adhesive that seperates from the strip. I think that the seperation of the adhesive is actually why they wear out so fast. Even new strips the adhesive just does not want to stay on.
  11. Teflon cutting strips for Graphtec

Ever notice that the cutting strips on Graphtecs always wear out down on the right bottom side where you cut most everything and the strip between 24 - 54" is perfect as you cut less up there. I found on my cutter you are forced to cut many things down near the origin point becaause you can't...
  12. Advise on horrible customer

Seeing that they are 50% of your sales...I would pull my head out of my azz!!! lol
  13. Why would you laminate white vinyl?

I had a vehicle come in today and I had to strip off some logos on the side. Everything was white and I cringed thinking that I would be out in the heat with a heat gun and very slow work. The stripping was easy, no heat gun needed. Everything once you lifted an edge came off clean, no glue...
  14. Summa S One 160 Drag pressure issue

should have done one in front of their eyes and let them then explain, there are no issues.
  15. What do you do when a customer takes a phone call in the middle of placing an order?

It's rude and shows that they have no respect for your time. You think they answer that phone when they are sitting in their lawyers office? Depending on who it is, I might sit and wait all though it feels uncomfortable if they go on and on over trivial matters...at that point I walk out to...
  16. Mimaki CJV150 mottled print and fuzzy test print

check the far right side of the print head...there are 3 black pieces of plastic that hang down and can catch lint and other stuff usually after a banner run. It collects on those and hangs low enough to rub the print
  17. How to properly align graphics on a car?

Some of these new vehicles are extremely hard to figure out. Using a level is OK to get an idea how straight you are to the world, but that does not mean to much on the side of a truck. Need to pick a body line and then stand back and look.
  18. How to properly align graphics on a car?

    Take it outside
  19. Some questions about using wall graphic material

I have a customer who wants a wall graphic 6' x 7' - I plan on using Avery 2611 to print on. If I do a seam would you apply them with an overlap or butt them up, or do the overlap and like with wallpaper cut between the 2 and remove the excess? What about shrinkage
  20. 54” Summa S2-140T

My opos reader has had issues and I am really tired of fighting with it on virtually every cut job. The cutter itself is very good and I might keep it as a backup if my Graphtec ( close to 20 years old) ever dies.
