  1. Wanted Looking for USED 60"^ Heat Assisted Laminator (seal, royal, GBC)

On our old GBC laminators the boards eventually failed.
  2. Looking for a s80600

    Call Trigon Imaging. 513-965-6116
  3. Epson S80600 grinding noise

Well THAT'S horrible. Looks like maybe the grinding noise was a hose obstruction leading to an eventual failure of the hose/line? I hope it stayed off the circuitry. I hope you have a warranty, this looks like it could be a total loss. We had a damper bust on one of our old S60670 machines; the...
  4. Avoiding wrinkles over rivets

Get a 6" wide foam (paint) roller from Ace hardware. Squeegee your panel in-between the rivet lines, maybe 1" away from the rivets on each side, leaving an un-squeegeed area the whole length of the rivet lines. Be sure the ends are open so the air has somewhere to escape. (important!) Now take...
  5. Stadium Light pole Mounted Sign

We used a series of Aluminum angle along the back of the sign using carriage bolts for a very similar sign. I think he was around 4'x8'. We clamped the angle to the poles with some very large heavy duty "hose clamps". Worked fine for years even after heavy windstorms damaged almost every other...
  6. 69 Camaro steel and fiberglass

Use an adhesive test kit to see if it will stick. I know 3M provides them but I don't know what brand vinyl you use. If it is smooth fiberglass I don't see a problem, wouldn't be much different than wrapping a boat. If he has body filler showing you'll have to primer over it, but otherwise...
  7. Printer advice

I have not used a Colorado, so I cannot help with that. I have used Latex and we were never able to get consistent color out of ours, even in a VERY well climate controlled environment. The color always faded a LOT from the start of the print to the end of the print. And then reprint panels were...
  8. Epson S80600 grinding noise

Does your media clamp have ink buildup on it? It sounds like the head may be hitting on it when it goes over it.
  9. Anyone use metamark frosted etched wet apply?

Switch to the air release materials like MacTac for frosted/dusted. It'll save loads of time!
  10. Micro Dot for Wall Lettering or..?

    Phototex?
  11. Question Print / Cut directly on reflective

An Epson 80600 will not do that great of a job and look like an even finish the same way a thermal print will. From your description, these appear to be Edge prints without lamination; the difference in the finish is the printed area is not glossy like the vinyl when not laminated. I would find...
  12. Need Help SureColor S70675 Problem with head 1 light cyan

You will need the service program to do the repairs. The repair isn't that hard in itself, but it is impossible without the software. IIRC - You have to have the software to de-pressurize the head, then to configure the head, then re-pressurize it after install.
  13. Need Help SureColor S70675 Problem with head 1 light cyan

I believe the process is called flush & fill, through the menu on the printer. That will purge the head/lines and refill. Also, check to be sure your caps are seated correctly and the ring has no damage.
  14. Question Print / Cut directly on reflective

We do it almost everyday with Gerber Edge printers. They are "made" to do jobs like this and striping with pinstriped edges. You will have perfect prints/cuts every time (no matter the length) with the alignment and sprocketed plotters. You can print white (there is actually a variety of whites)...
  15. Do you laminate your plain vinyl lettering?

The only reason to ever laminate cut vinyl is when you're using specialty (non-cast) vinyls and you encapsulate the vinyl. You have to Cut it, weed it, laminate it, then cut it again, then weed it again then mask it. All with registration obviously, and it is a complicated process for only...
  16. Can I shake cartridges before turning on printer?

I would definitely NOT turn these printers off and leave them off. We keep our printers on 24/7/365 and they do their periodic cleanings when they are supposed to. We do not have any head issues out of ours this way. Leaving them off leads to more manual maintenance recovering nozzles and more...
  17. 3M IJ180 vs 40c

We use 180c here for the longevity. Don't have much issue with stretch/seams but it has always been our go-to for most all projects so the installers know it well.
  18. Another Double-Sided Printing Thread

We usually just sew two banners together if possible.
  19. Have you ever?

I don't think that the 8150 has the same conformability that the 180 does, so it will probably pop back up around rivets on the truck. It also doesn't have any UV inhibitors, so you are going to need to use real laminate. If you've just taken off the laminator, your options are to go ahead and...
