  1. Gerber Omega saves pdf with white outline

I've found that almost all files saved out of Omega to be printed through another process (like wide format) need to be ran through Illustrator to fix all of the issues. We have one customer that only has a Gerber and we do their wide format printing for them, it can be a real pain redoing the...
  2. Need help selecting car wrap material/lam

I would definitely see what all is involved in "printing" these wraps for the customer before you price it to them. I would base it off of the square footage as far as "printing" goes, but usually there is some setup/art time involved unless they have a good designer on staff so price that...
  3. Need help selecting car wrap material/lam

Call Grimco if Fellers doesn't say they have it in stock. They had around 140 rolls yesterday in stock of 3M IJ180c. Right now, everyone is "out of stock" but it comes in in a week or so. We order 10 rolls of each at a time just to keep a couple extra in stock, unless it's a big order. The end...
  4. Question Gfp 363TH slitter option? laminate overhang

When we get overhang on an edge and it might be a problem one of the operators just sit behind the machine by the take-up reel with an exacto and trim it off as it feeds through. (before it is wound up)
  5. Material Suggestions

180c (or 480 if you can get it) with 8520 would be my go-to on a mural with heavy traffic like this. It'll stay, but getting it off later...
  6. Epson S60600 Ink Odor?

They all smell, you're just accustomed to the smell of your printers' inks. After a couple days you wont notice the Epson's smell anymore either. The Eco-solvent are definitely less potent that full solvents.
  7. Epson S40600 banding

Check the media profile on the printer itself. Then recalibrate the media feed within that. Running 4-pass you HAVE to have that spot on or you'll see banding.
  8. One clogged head? Roland sp540v

I may be wrong, but I believe you damaged your Magenta head pushing/puling too much through them when you had the last problem, now you're getting overspray on that channel. I think that issue was a bad pump or cap seal; these printers don't have pressure in the lines, just suction from the...
  9. Printing on back of decal

At a printing company I once worked at we purchased a custom rubber stamp to stamp the (back) liner on decals with. Worked well enough.
  10. Need Help Dogbone Issues on Rounded Corners

It isn't just your corners, your "straight lines" aren't straight either. Looks like something is wobbly/loose in the machine.
  11. Free Stuff For Y'all

Yet another fire truck, this one is an old Sutphen truck. 1/10 scale.
  12. Need Help Mimaki S80600 leaking ink

Call in Decision1 if you can't find the source of the leak yourself. I'd bet it is the damper unit on top of the print heads.
  13. Question Upgrade for Epson S80600

The S60 smell is going to be very comparable to your current Roland. Resin/Latex printers require a much more stable climate controlled environment, and put off a lot of heat and a different type of smell from it heating the vinyl.
  14. Question Discoloring

Looks like an install error to me honestly. Reflective can bruise pretty easily and too much heat can cause discoloration.
  15. SP-540V Service Manual & Cap Top Alignment

If you can get into the service mode, run a linear encoder test and clean the strip and sensor, it might not be "parking" all the way back to where it should be. IIRC there is also a sensor that knows it is parked in the correct location, it may need a minor adjustment or cleaning? Been 10+...
  16. Need feedback to improve cut performance. Just finished 2,000 of these. Best practice input requested

Use clamps, screws or another fixture to hold the project piece to the spoilboard so that it doesn't move while cutting. We experience a lot of movement of ABS board on our router and always have to fight with it. Resurfacing your spoilboard and sealing the side edges should also help improve...
  17. Question Upgrade for Epson S80600

Really, the choice no a days is between an Epson and a HP. HP is great at sitting idle, but that's about it. Color consistency is horrible for repair panels and it wastes a LOT of vinyl compared to any other printer. I would definitely recommend an Espon 60600 for your needs. You wont need the...
  18. Question WE are needing to purchase a new laminator

Get the GFP. We have a couple 455th here and they run every day w/o issues.
  19. it is not all about dpi

Topaz Gigapixel AI is the shizznit. Try it, you'll buy it.
  20. polycarbonate stickers for instrument panels

Either way could work, but we only do them with our Gerber Edge printers here. Plotting them on a wide-format printer just doesn't do as good of a job (accuracy) with that many cut passes.
