The Keencut Evolution 2. AWESOME trimmer. We use ours every day here and it cuts GREAT. Get the heads that take the trapezoid blades as they are the cheapest consumable.
Once mounted, it can swing down off the table out of the way freeing up your table for other projects.
I have to say that I would seriously consider switching. The newer eco-solvents allow you to print and laminate the same day, just not IMMEDIATELY. I can't see why your "regular business model" would involve immediate lamination and that it couldn't wait a couple hours or until tomorrow morning...
Ours will slow down as described during high network traffic.
If it is isolated on your network, you may want to call in an IT pro to help figure out where data is coming from or going to; you may have a virus.
Possibly your RIP is configured to send the data incorrectly?
How large of decals and what is on them?
Small decals: You can use a Gerber Edge and reverse print spot color layers.
Large decals: You can either reverse print on 3M clear vinyl and laminate with white vinyl with clear adhesive or reverse print CMYK on clear then print spot white over it if you...
If you take two panels straight off the roll and lay them side by side on a table, they are not the same size? - If not, this is a machine or RIP issue.
Your machine should have a calibration utility that enables you to print marks a certain distance apart and then measure and adjust the...
If it is more than $100 I wouldn't do it. This machine is a big gamble. At a minimum you are looking at around $2000 to get it running again if you ONLY need new heads. If it needs more than that, the costs can skyrocket. And all you're getting is an antiquated technology that can only print...
So, what was the final product for? If it was not for a wrap, then there is other material that comes in matte that is printable and less expensive.
I also don't understand why you wouldn't want to laminate it. It is wrap material, which is made for compound curves, so it is super thin to begin...
Where are you at in KY? Get out there and network and get some more business in. The sooner you get more in, the sooner you can get out of your other job.
Make invoicing and networking (new business/customers) your first priority, and start thinking about who you know that is trustworthy enough...
How was the vinyl sitting after it was printed before it was laminated? Was it rolled up tightly on the take-up core?
Solvents can't off-gas if they can't escape, and then they start going into the adhesive. Solvents are also heavier than air so they want to go downwards.
Stand your rolls on...

Our old Gerber "Edge" (side opening machine) is finally getting ready to bite the dust after 20+ years of faithful service. We are looking for a decent deal on a Gerber Edge or Edge 2 to replace it with. Anyone have one for sale? PM me!
