If you have the newer Omega and Edge also you can just "Home" both and forget about the eyepiece. Both are great plotters.
  2. High Per. Vinyl Failing In Winter

Hold on, start with giving us ALL the info on the job: Exactly WHAT high performance vinyl are you using? Printed & laminated or just cut vinyl? What surface are you applying it to? 5. What Are You Guys Jamming To Latelly

Been listening to a lot of what you'll find on Austin City Limits. A lot of music you wont hear on the radio, Conor Oberst, Jack Johnson, Josh Ritter, Modest Mouse, Nathaniel Rateliff, and always Les Claypool.
  6. Laminating Accident *graphic Content

Be careful - once you start it is hard to stop! We laminated a Twinkie once and it stretched out about 8ft long.
  7. Roland VS-540 Black Bad nozzle test

From each individual cap comes a seperate tube, Cyan & Black then connect in a "Y" and go into one pump, and Magenta and Yellow "Y" into the other pump. The tube coming from the Black and into the "Y" maybe the culprit or the black cap seal is bad or not seating correctly/firmly; that is my...
  8. my jv3 is not pulling ink to heads

Park the heads on the capping station, disconnect the ink lines from the pump, and apply suction to the lines with a syringe or brake bleeder hand-pump to get ink flowing through the lines.
  9. Roland VS-540 Black Bad nozzle test

I believe the problem is a bad pump or ink line from the caps. If the pump isn't priming the head correctly, you will have drop-out like pictured. it seems to fit that after a strong cleaning (extra pressure on heads) that the ink flows correctly, but otherwise it doesn't. Remember, ink isn't...
  10. Etched Vinyl with logos cut out

MacTac offers both dusted and frosted style films in the BFree material. Never had an issue with it here, but our guys use the GeekWrap squeegees.
  11. Need Help First Wrap

Wait, are you in the graphics industry, or the carwash industry printing in-house? Do it all as a wrap, you're actually going to waste more material and time doing it all as print/cut. Use quality cast material with air release and appropriate laminate.
  12. 4over Banner Quality

I have not used 4-Over, but I have had really good quality large banners come back from Vincent Printing.
  13. Etched Vinyl with logos cut out

  16. mimaki jv300-160

Power off the machine. Take the cover off the dampers/heads. carefully remove one cable and write how it was connected onto it. Remove another cable and do the same thing. Swap the cables locations. Power back on the machine and see if the problem moved with the cable. If so - bad cable, if not...
  17. portable seat

Once the office chairs get looking ratty here we pull the backs/arms off and throw them out in the garage for the installers. Comfy seats, adjustable heights. And if they accidentally get lost/stolen/left oh well.
  18. SP540V Stair Stepping, Poor Color

100% Dirty encoder strip or sensor; clean both a couple times, then run the calibration/test a couple times. Clean with regular ISO 70% alcohol. NOTHING stronger.
  19. Cut Back on Media Waste When Printing to a Take-Up Reel

The first foot or so of a roll is usually contaminated anyways from handling, etc. I also always do a nozzle check before any long print, so that uses a few inches. And once it is printed it is headed on over to the laminator anyways, right? So, you're going to need something to get the...
