    It is possible for the reader to go bad, but not likely. It is more likely that the fingers of the reader might be damaged or the card is just not quite in the correct location. Clean the chip with alcohol (denatured)

    Banding in light colors sounds like your missing nozzles. Have you tried recovering your nozzles? The internal prints are without profile, so they will look different on different media.

    I2 on these machines are ONLY available through the Front Panel of the Printer. So it will print I2 with Production Manager, you just can't control it through PM..

    Check the full length of the encoder carefully. Check the function of the encoder sensor. Reset "Home" position.

    Does the carriage bind in the middle? Does the encoder strip look damaged in the middle? What happens if you move the carriage all the way to the left before turning the machine on?

    Loading or media To check loading Place a piece of tape on the platen under the media sticking out from the media. Make a mark at the edge of the media. Feed out about 5 ft and check your mark, should be right on.

    Unplug the machine BEFORE disconnecting or connecting anything electrical internally. There is no problem disconnecting power with the carriage off of the capping station. But you can just manually release the head, power or not.
