  1. 1618 End of Roll

Check to see if the media is lifting over the sensor when you get the error. If the media is not flat, it can give a false reading. Also check to see what is on the back liner, dark printing can trigger the sensor as well.
  2. Mutoh SC-1400D not sensing pinch rollers!

If it hasnt started transfering firmware you should be safe to try and restart. You may want to unplug the cutter for a few minutes and try again. Make sure you have the right port # per the instructions.

The only thing constant is change.... and change happens every day, most changes go off without a hitch, but no one is perfect. I am sorry, that you are having issues.
  4. Mutoh SC-1400D not sensing pinch rollers!

My guy here, says it should have beeped twice and then you power off and back on to finish firmware. So, hoping you are good to go.
  5. Mutoh SC-1400D not sensing pinch rollers!

Sorry, I have never done one on this cutter. We did one last week on a new Kona and it took maybe 5 minutes, seemed like a long time for firmware. You dont want to shut it off before it is finished...

  7. Grease streaks on back of media from grit roller

support@mutoh.com, they will need your contact info and printer serial# Odd, from looking at the drawings, I dont see where there should be any grease anywhere near there.

NP, The dealer is always the first line of contact. Mutoh works with the dealers, dealers work with their customers. Kind of like when you buy parts for your car, you dont go back to the car manufacturer, you go to the dealer where you purchased the parts.
  9. Mutoh SC-1400D not sensing pinch rollers!

Good idea. The encoder is actually built into the motor. If he can see where the sensor errors with the flag he may be able to manually move the roller to have it make the sensor.
  10. Grease streaks on back of media from grit roller

NP, I had to look this one up and first looked it up for an FII0. There are two sealed bearings (front and back) creating a saddle that this surface rides on. BTW, you dont want to disassembly any of this yourself, it takes some special fixtures to realign. So there should be no grease...
  11. Mutoh SC-1400D not sensing pinch rollers!

Apparently there is a flag sensor on the back of the carriage that senses the 'flag' (a raised ridge on the hold down roller assymbly) and compared that with an encoder count on the carriage motor. So while it may 'see' the flag, it senses that it is not the correct position. Obviously...
  12. Capping stations suxs

There has been a documented change in the cartidges (everyone is trying to contain costs) and apparently there have been some issues that have been resolved. There have been no announcements about a change in ink. If there are issues with the OEM cap and you are not getting satisfaction...

  18. Epson GS6000

BTW, Mutoh has been using those same heads (and some newer ones from Epson) for some time.
  19. Printing past the edge?

There are a number of ways. If you put tape down, you must raise and lower the media lever so that the printer will measure the 'new' width. The tape must be over the black stripe on the platen and must be white enough for the sensor to detect. You can right justifiy your media and turn...
