  1. Who owns their own commercial building?

We looked at buying many years ago, still wish we had. The problem for us was finding a comparable property (size, 16' overhead door with 50' behind it etc) within our limited geographic area. We did find one property that we were considering, till we discovered it had been "remediated" because...
  2. Roof top graphics

Haven't done that in ages, but scaled grid was usually the way it got done.
  3. Engraved Plastic signs

Thanks but I'm looking for complete signs, not just the material. We don't engrave in house.
  4. Engraved Plastic signs

Hello Anyone have a wholesale source for engraved plastic signs? My usual supplier doesn't have the color I'm looking for. Thanks!
  5. My First HDU Sign

Yea, we quit using MDO or any wood based panel as a backer years ago. No matter what the prep, they always rotted away. But he did say it was capped with .040 so it should be fine.
  6. Install Only Pricing

I agree, but if it's not in the contract the customer or vendor might not
  7. Stripping paint off fire damaged HDU carved sign

After a bit of negotiation the insurance decided to cover replacing the sign. We're just done carving the new faces and starting to paint. And after getting the old signs on the shop it was more evident that they weren't salvagable
  8. Install Only Pricing

The problem I have with installing other peoples graphics is what happens if something isn't right or I screw up something? In the first case it may not be my problem, but if the job has to be put on hold and I have to make a second trip, or the vehicle sits here it throws off the time. In the...
  9. My First HDU Sign

I was wondering the same thing, it's a routed sign?
  10. Sign Painting Over Finished Wood

Should be Ok as long as it's not one one of those scrubbable paints. But as always test first
  11. Sign Painting Over Finished Wood

If you're talking about the painted rectangle color I would use the same thing you're lettering with
  12. Sign Painting Over Finished Wood

These are interior signs? Lettering enamel will work fine over any sealed wood surface, For painted panels, just mask off the rectangle, lightly scuff and paint. Pull the tape while wet. When people talk about using latex they are mostly referring to background finishing and dimensional signs...
  13. What vinyl should i use for this job?

I also read it as a poll table cover, not the felt and I would also suggest making a new cover, similar to making a table throw for a trade show.
  14. Decorative street post production, removal and installation bid

10 hours to pull out a post and put in a new one 24" deep? That seems excessive.
  15. Gold Leaf

No more than any other clear coat. I really don't see much of a difference. We usually edge print these so it's not the type of material that has the clear already applied.
  16. 5 x 10 Table

We have two 5x8s, but could just as easily have been 5x10. Build the table any way you like, with or without a seam and then throw a one piece self healing mat on top. You can use some double stick tape to keep it in place. Ours last years.
  17. Shona Lá Fhéile Pádraig

    Slainte!
  18. So, what is it you want.......??

I usually try to make my response/suggestion and let it go at that without getting into a debate. But sometimes I can't help myself.
  19. Gold Leaf

We have been applying clear cast vinyl over signgold on vehicles, with about 1/8" overlap
  20. Gold Leaf

Actually I find that when clients ask about "real" gold leaf for a vehicle or flat sign most are now referring to SignGold. The other brand that looks good is called Realgold
