When I went to Nashville it was on my list to see, right after the Ryman and before the Country Hall of Fame.

I would try without anything first. Just the two pieces back to back.
If that doesn't work use some thin tape, banner tape would probably be fine, to mount shims just where it's hidden by the retainer.
Must be something wrong with me. I find it boring, nothing about gets across the "Dimensional" aspect.
I'd look at some simple prismatic fonts that look good on a logo and "customize" the name. Maybe some LHF fonts.
There's a few Gerber Edge users here, including the site admin Fred. I have had just about 20 years. Back when we got it we did everything with it including tour buses and tractor trailers. Now we still use it for a lot of vehicle lettering
