  5. is it just me?

My current job requires us to use the auto-retract knifes. I absolutely hate them. For the average production employee who only uses knifes to open packages they're fine, but for a technician like myself that uses them for a variety of things not as simple as cutting tape they're a pain in my...

We print on magnet all the time without issue. Set head height to high, adjust feed calibration, and get your blade depth/pressure set and let it run.

  9. This Economy!!!

Omaha has one of the best economies in the country and if I never watched/read any news I would have never known we were in a rescission. That being said I have watched/read the news along with every other person and have been taking this opportunity to blame any and everything that goes wrong...
  10. Knocking sound?

Make sure your sheet cut blade assembly isn't broken or hanging too low. Roland sells a tool to check the belt tension, before I bought that I would inspect the pulleys and make sure all set screws are tight. I would also grease the entire belt with silicone lubricant. Also I would try turning...
  11. VP540 Streaking Black?!

If black still streaks when it is connected to the yellow cable I would say you have a bad head.
  12. VP540 Streaking Black?!

Its one of three things: 1. cables (either bad or not connected correctly) 2. print head 3. head board The fact that you say it blew fuses makes me think it is the head board and/or head. We've had the exact same thing happen where a head went bad and caused a component on the head board to go...
  13. Can you combine ink cartridges in a jam?

Not if there is no air in the bag. If its a sealed bag with only ink in it, then all you can get out of it is ink. If you pierce the bag and introduce air that's when you'd have a problem.
  14. Conflicting Advice to Newbies

When it comes to hiring somebody its the same as anything else... you get what you pay for. The problem isn't the good employee has no loyalty and leaves, its the fact that he/she is not getting paid enough to stay.
  15. Can you combine ink cartridges in a jam?

Once you pierce a bag and try to use it you will get air in the lines. Think about where the needle on the machine goes into the bag. If there is air in the bag then as soon as the ink level drops below the spot where the needle enters the bag you will be sucking air into your machine.
  16. Can I swap print heads on SC-540

There was one time when I had a magenta print head that was going bad (banding) but would still print. So knowing that yellow is much more forgiving in the prints than magenta (at least in my experience), and the fact that I didn't have the parts on hand needed to fix it I swapped the 2 heads. I...
  17. What is wrong with you people in Florida ?

According to the article I read it was bath salts and bath salts are banned in 37 states. Whats been happening is they ban a certain chemical that's in the bath salts then chemists slightly change the chemical into something else and voila its legal to sell again for a few months/years then the...
