On my xc-540 its menu>calibration>test print
It will print a series of boxes you pick the boxes that are touching without overlapping then input that number into the menu>calibration>setting area. Not sure if its the same with your machine.
Some colors are more forgiving than others. The feed calibration very well may not be the problem but its quick and easy to check/fix so its always the first thing I check when I see banding on my Rolands.
Look at the ink lines and dampers, if they are not full of ink then you have air in the lines and need pull ink through the dampers. If they are full of ink then you probably have dried up heads and you could try a head soak.
Can you bring more than 10 a month? I know you would only get credit for 10 but that wouldn't even scratch the surface around here and I'd rather see them get recycled than pitched.
I'm in Omaha too. At both this job and my last I got two 15 min. paid and 30 min. unpaid.
That is working an 8 1/2 hr. day (including breaks)
I've always been able to take them when I want to, but I'm the tech so when everyone else goes to break is when I usually do P.M.s and stuff like that...
Check all your cables running to the head and make sure they're attached securely.
I've seen this when I didn't have one of the ribbon cables on the head properly seated.
I've also seen this when I had a bad head once, and a bad head board once.
I have all the power off and unplugged since you will be unplugging the head then use the tool that manually lowers the capping station. Then once the head is removed I use the tool to raise the capping station again so the other heads don't dry out. Then repeat for install. That is on my...
We recently changed a printer to Inktec ink. We used Roland ink cleaner (it was running Lyson ink) and pulled ink cleaner through the lines above the dampers with a syringe until you get clean ink cleaner coming into your syringe. Its pretty simple but very time consuming it took us several full...
I don't have any pics. I can tell you that the $2500 print head doctor is just an ultrasonic cleaner that also pumps fluid through the head that the same time. I have used a syringe to push fluid through the heads and it does help sometimes. As far as "can it damage the head?" probably these...
We use a small $30 ultrasonic cleaner on our dx4 heads. We just used a bar that we sit on top of the ultrasonic cleaner then use zip ties so the bottom of the head is barely submerged in cleaning fluid. Just make sure the head never touches the sides or bottom. Sometimes it works and sometimes...
