Have you considered using a spray laminate in the interim? Although it wouldn’t solve everything, it would widen your capabilities.
  2. HP Designjet 6100ps

Wow. If it’s in good working condition, that’s a heck of a good price, even without the cutter thrown in. It’s hard to find one less than a few thousand dollars. It’s worth it just to HAVE for indoor or short term outdoor prints like Tyvek banners or laminated yard signs. As Kanini stated, it...

  7. How to apply prints?

Material that will STAY FLAT is very important, especially when used for years. But the best investment for that flat table is a self-healing mat. It protects the table surface and allows you to trim your prints in the same workspace. Speedpress makes a good one and there’s an optional grid...

  9. Laser Engraving Rain Boot?

Depending on how complicated the logo is and how many you’re doing, it may be as simple as cutting a vinyl stencil and using Sipa Paint Markers (or similar). They’re permanent color on rubber.
  10. Need Help Need Help identifying this vinyl product

I’ll bet it was quite the job removing it all. It’s almost like shrink wrapping a flat surface! Glad it’s figured out!

  13. Wall film frustration

Absolutely use actual “Wall Paper” media that is pre-pasted, activated with water or no-paste, in which case you do it the old fashioned way and purchase wallpaper paste. HP has one example here: https://www.lexjet.com/pvc-free-wall-paper Here’s one of many we did with wall paper and a...
  14. Suggestions Is MacTac B-Free Frosted available in anything smaller than a 54”W roll?

I need to replace damaged vinyl on maybe a half dozen foot wide tall panels. I don’t need to spend $300+ for 82’ of 54”W frosted vinyl. A half roll (27”) would be great. I’ve found ONE supplier that I’ve never used so reviews on BCI Imaging would be appreciated, too...
  15. Need Help Need Help identifying this vinyl product

Ya know... we have no idea how big those letters are. But whatever the size, I stand with my original belief, as Jester 1167 stated it more clearly than I, that it’s applied vinyl with a protective CLEAR film over the entire glass.
  16. Need Help Need Help identifying this vinyl product

I believe those “marks “ are the stretched protective window film dropping off the applied vinyl to the glass. The film is adhesive so it appears hazy and over time will settle into the stretched contours.
  17. Need Help Need Help identifying this vinyl product

It appears that a protective film has been applied to the glass, similar to the product sold here: http://protective-film.com/products/protective-film-tape/ It would have to be removed completely before removing the vinyl letters.
  18. Need Help What Removable/Replaceable Vinyl will not ruin Direct to Substrate Prints

Thank you all. I’m familiar with and often use ORAFOL 631 Exhibition Cal which the company claims is good for removable wall graphics. We’ll probably go with that. ;)

Trade Show client wants to change a text line every year. We want to just cut vinyl and apply but afraid it’ll damage the panel’s print.
