The printhead has 8 ink channels. And, you can see 8 ink pipes which comes to dampers. But only 4 dampers installed. So, every damper has two independent ink channels.
The printhead should not touch the wiper. Try to replace it. But use original one. Bacause some substitutes can have bigger size...
Explain more about new ink. What ink type? What is printer’s firmware?
I remember old ink labeled as LUH, new ink is UH21. Maybe, you just need to upgrade printer’s firmware for make it possible to install new ink type.
Did you check printhead fuses on the mainboard?
You can not use mainboard from VJ1324 on VJ1624 because it impossible to reprogram it. It will be bainboard for VJ1324 only forever.
The printer has 4 ink lines - one for each color. Every lines has a splitter before dampers. So, for check you have to close second damper and pull from first. And opposite. I think you have a leakage in damper connection. Check a rubber ring under the nut. Maybe cut end of pipe a little.
You have to replace mainboard. And update firmware of mainboard or heater control board for same release. Or replace heater board too.
Or
Change parameter values in your OCE without any board replacement.
Disassemble the maintenance station and replace double tube inside the perilstatic pump. And check if all teeth on small gear.
Or replace maintenance station complete.
It looks like not good head cables connection. Always jetting mozzles or channel missiing means some address pin of cable not connected. Try to reconnect the cables. Also, it can be ink leaking inside the printhead and short cirquit inside the printhead.
