  1. meteor strike in Russia

Russian politician claims that this was no meteorite, it was USA testing a new weapon over Russia. http://english.ruvr.ru/2013_02_15/Russian-MP-blames-meteor-shower-on-US-secret-arms-test/
  2. Summa S class 140 T

FrankW, any updates on the S-Class 2? :)
  3. Yearly font purchases...How Much?

Sure.. same thing goes for software, operating systems, movies and music.. If you are into downloading pirated/stolen content. My font budget varies in accordance to what I need. Just found out that I needed the Xtreme Script font from signfonts.com, so I purchased that one just a few days ago...
  4. Anyone doing bumper decals for car dealer lots?

The guy with a lawn mower business has just that, he is not just a guy with a lawn mower. Whether or not you make decals for yourself does not make any difference to if you are running a legitimate business or not. I also started out with a plotter in my basement, while I was going to school...
  5. Looking at aquiring a Rockhopper 2 what problems???!!!

You should avoid the Rockhopper 2! :) I don't know what VJ you have, but I used to work at a shop where they had a Rockhopper 2, and it was just slow, unreliable and expensive to maintain. They got rid of it and upgraded to a VJ1614 (or was is 1604, whichever was new in 2008). Now this...
  6. Newbie wide format printer vs Famous Artist Illustrator, printer, graphic designer

Yeah, you really nailed who stands out like idiots in this thread... My empathy is for the "famous designer" who has to put up with this nonsense on a daily basis face to face.
  7. Font help - almost there I think

Update: They found a pdf with the logo in vector format at the office, but it would still be interesting finding out what the actual font is called. It has a shadow/3d effect:
  8. Newbie wide format printer vs Famous Artist Illustrator, printer, graphic designer

I think that since you more or less asked this same question (about media choice) about 2 months ago, and you still have no jobs should be a huge red flag.. If either of you are interested in doing the job of getting clients and sales, hire a sales person to get some work for both you and your...
  9. Printing Small Text

Cut these shapes/logos with my GX-24 on Oracal 751, so small that the vinyl actually look really thick in relation to the size of the logos. But you reach a limit on how small you can cut before it looks messy. The weeded out areas on the logo is about 1-2mm. These were made as a trial for a...
  10. This font is named?

Thank you! :) I've looked at their font packages before.. Many nice fonts there. Looks like it's time to shop!
  11. This font is named?

Not too familiar with these kinds of fonts, the one used on "Racing Team" The top one looks to be Serpentine, and the numbers are Impact(?), but the middle one has me stumped.. Owner of said racing team ordered this banner on ebay, the seller designed and printed it. Now they want a traller...

Ordered mine from the UK, price was less than half of Norwegian retail price, even including over $100 in shipping.
  13. Panel Saw?

Just ordered a Festool track saw with 2x 1400mm tracks, looking forward to cutting with pleasure from now on!
  14. Calling all WRAPPERS.............

Not missing the point, just trying to put things in perspective :) As I stated already, all paneled wraps I have mounted have been from rear to front. But since I asked about partial wraps starting at the middle of the car and covering the rear section, that would have exactly the same...
  15. Calling all WRAPPERS.............

Partial wrap on a 500mph+ commercial airliner with lots of exposed frontfacing edge area.. http://youtu.be/1eiHET7Ujno How fast was that truck travelling that got half the hood wrap ripped off within a week?
  16. Calling all WRAPPERS.............

What about a partial wrap on the rear half of the car? Same exposed surface area on the seam as a wrap where the rear section is installed after the middle section. Do you refuse to do it? Only install partial wraps on the front half of the car so the seam is tucked into the door or panel gaps?
  17. Calling all WRAPPERS.............

The wrapping instructional dvd's from Justin Pate shows the same procedure as the one described in the first post, can't remember the reasoning off hand, but he did explain why.. But let's be honest, would actually the wind catching the overlap be a real issue? What about partial wraps and cut...
  18. mud...

And this was how liability insurance got expensive in the first place  http://youtu.be/Tw_vcM7bynA
  19. Importing Question

Have you tried converting everything to outlines when opened in illustrator? (ctrl+a) then (shift+ctrl+o).
  20. Summa S class 140 T

Does anyone have experience or info on the new S2 class cutters? With the color display (amongst other things). I see them advertised on this forum, but the Summa website does not say much about what is new and different about them.
