I had the same thing happen on exactly the same printer and materials. I ended up replacing 2 heads and now print stuff like this with a gutter/color band.
We've been using Avery MPI 1005/DOL1360 for the past few months (changed from Arlon DPF6000XRP) but I'm concerned that the print colour has been significantly different side-to-side on the roll. I need to investigate whether that's the media or printer (l26500).
The 'professionals' who originally set up my l26500 used a black start value of 0 in their profiles and it would always produce dirty yellows even with a CMYK of 0/0/100/0. No such problems since I taught myself to profile.
Where do you think Signvox falls short Charlie? We were using Estimate up until 2 years ago, I think it's good for a small shop but it lacked the features we needed so we moved up to Signvox.
Good decision. Trade prices are for resellers providing print-ready files, if he's going to make you work for it like a retail customer, then he should pay retail price.
I've got both and as much as I love my Latex, I think the Roland is better for short-run stickers. It'll finish short prints much quicker (due to the latex warm up time) and it's easier to feed short/narrow materials. Print-cutting unlaminated stickers in one step also saves time.
If you're not...
We've done the same in firing bad customers, you've just got to have the confidence that your time is better spent helping someone worthwhile.
My BDM usually deals with these types of customers and is great at phrasing our position. Something to the effect of "for a relationship to exist...
That's a good result for an awkward situation. If a client tells us they have another vehicle "exactly the same" then we might be inclined to do the same. A great thing about having a Latex printer is being able to print it on the day if you're unsure.
I already did. Why are you running your xc540 on Versaworks though? I've got all my printers running through Caldera and only use Versaworks if I want to do a quick contour cut only or pounce.
I've considered the same thing but concluded that there's just too much specific knowledge required for it to work. A construction industry estimator relies on full drawings and specs to be given to them, in our industry the estimator is often the one doing the basic concept and specs, therefore...
I'd get $990+GST for that job.
$160/m2 less 15% range discount (size of the windows) and 5% volume discount (for 2 windows).
$75 for 45 mins artwork
$170 for install (2ppl 1 hour)
1. The longest I've left mine is 2 weeks over the Christmas break, no problems.
2. My machine has averaged 0.93mL/sqft over it's life, and over 10L ink per head. At $160/cartridge here that works out at 19c/sqft + 1c/sqft for the heads (+ cleaning kits cost which is still cheaper than paying for...
