I've been turning mine off at night for 18 months and haven't noticed any ill effects. It asks to do a purge and wipe when you start it up and it cleans itself a dozen times during the day anyway. I have a UPS connected to the power so that it always has vacuum even during a power outage.

The non-curl PET I use has to be printed at 16 pass bi (custom profile).

It's just under Settings>Auto Maintenance Time Mine is set to 2:00am but often I'll turn the machine off at night and when not in use, to save it using more ink from cleaning than printing.

L260 hands-down in my opinion, especially at that price (they're twice that here). I've got two Rolands that are a step up from the Versacamm and I still prefer my Latex. The instant drying is a huge bonus and the throughput is much faster for the same quality. You've got plenty of budget left...

The clippers weren't cheap so it'd be $3.50. I just work from home so I'm not competing with 'qualified' hairdressers and barbers, they've got mirrors and don't make you sit at their kitchen table. I can promise that each haircut you get will be better than the previous one.

10 pass is my standard, I wouldn't be surprised to see some banding at 8 pass depending on the vinyl.

We do plenty of rear windows with cut vinyl or laminated perf, but surprisingly I can't recall any instances where we've had to replace anything because the wiper has caused peeling or damage (besides a bit of scratching of the laminate perhaps).

Vectric Aspire for sure. Enroute came with my machine and I put up with it for about 2 years before switching to Aspire, which I find far more logical and feature-full. I can just export a PLT to use directly with my Multicam.
