The printhead produces different colors as you print and they heat up. Then they cool down and the next 10 foot you print is a different color.

Is this on print and cut jobs where you have created the cut layers with a new color?

So they are not like the OkiData and Epson printers which have Piezo heads and print the same colors and lengths forever? Have seen some wraps done on Piezo printers and the truck brought back a year later and replacement tile printed and matches perfectly a year later! Not capable on HP?

That’s what happens with thermal printheads that you heat up. To get short runs well, replace all printheads and run 5-10 feet ahead of your wrap job.

Perfectpdf is right on the money. Right now you can get an Epson S40. The printer is much better mechanically but the ink is much longer term and 3m approved. I’ve seen customers make banners with Rolands and they fade in 6 months

If you’re printing on vinyls, your best equipment is eco solvent printers which use 3m certified inks, such as OkiData and Epson. Uv manufacturing is trying to develop flexible inks for vinyls but it still will not laminate well because of its thickness.

Probably have air in the head. Do an ink charge to try to get air out
