  1. Optically Centered?

What a close minded comment. First, you can learn something new from ANYONE. Second, "visual center" is universal. It doesn't matter if it's a classic oil painting, magazine layout, or a sign... it exists, deal with it. Yes, Virginia, you can even learn design principles from reading a book...
  2. Ordered a signburst inferno with upgrades

Can I humbly ask what the benefit to these systems are? Nothing looks to be proprietary, or am I missing something?
  3. WTF Fellers?????

For a company the size of Fellers, how do you "accidentally" launch the new website too soon? Someone trip over a cowboy hat and fall on the website "LAUNCH" button? FFS just admit you wanted a bigger piece of the pie, didn't concern yourself with feedback from current customers, and didn't...
  4. Hey Fellers and Montroy.

  5. Optically Centered?

EDIT: Apparently since I learned this 25 years ago, the terms "optical center" and visual center" have been rather blurred (we were always taught them as two very different things). With that in mind, hopefully what I mention below still makes sense...
  6. Buying scrap from competing shops. Is this ok?

It depends on the other shop and the people. There are other local shops we are friendly with and we help each other out in a pinch. Laminating, lending vinyl, even installing wraps or wholesaling CNC cut items. They help us out too from time to time. However there are some shops I wouldn't...
  7. New Logo for fairly new sign company

Full branding/business identity package is a good start here. $800 would be a steal too. I used to get $2000-2500 about ten years go when I did them regularly.
  8. What poundage EPS foam for monuments?

Just curious for anyone else out there doing this type of work what poundage EPS foam you're using? We are currently using 1lb, but wanted to know if there is any advantage to going with a 2lb EPS instead?
  9. Mascot for local dog park - now in logo!

It was developed with the client. Response was positive. As I said before, we tried a few different eye options, this is what was settled on.
  10. Mascot for local dog park - now in logo!

I guess nobody likes "Calvin and Hobbes" Just a stylistic choice...tried a few with different eye styles, but in the end we felt this worked better.
  11. Town wants me to pay permitting fee to put their own sign on their property.

Ahhh, but there is the rub. We didn't need any approval, because it's not supposed to be permitted. Thankfully, I finally got some phone time with the head planner...problem solved, logic won out, and he gave us immediate verbal approval.
  12. Town wants me to pay permitting fee to put their own sign on their property.

The town donated land for a public park project, keep in mind the town still owns the land. We were tasked with creating a "coming soon" style sign for the project. Keep in mind this type of sign, according to their own codes & ordinances does NOT require a permit as long as the sign in...
  13. Need someone to print translucent materail - non-adhesive?

Finish doesn't matter, it's behind glass anyway. IIRC it was 48x60"
  14. Need someone to print translucent materail - non-adhesive?

I have an interior lit cabinet to replace a face on. The existing print looks like it's on some type of PVC film....it's milk white translucent media, which is backlit behind a reception desk. Are there any merchant members here that can help out with this?
  15. White lines printing from Flexi 10

Doesn't Flexi print white lines like this when in demo mode? Check your dongle.
  16. Clear aluminum sandwich

Actually it has happened...kinda sorta. Aluminium oxynitride or AlON is a transparent polycrystalline ceramic with cubic spinel crystal structure composed of aluminium, oxygen and nitrogen. It is currently marketed under the name ALON by Surmet Corporation. Wikipedia

  20. How to Recreate This

Not to sound harsh, but seriously, an hour? Are you not familiar with AI? Not a graphics person etc? I'm just not seeing what the difficulty is here, it should take about 5 minutes.
