  2. sign expo orlando

Cool. I'm flying down Wedsnesday as well, and the back up Thursday evening. The show in Vegas last year was huge - I've never been to the one in Orlando but I'd bet its just as big.
  3. Updated Logo for a Customer

Make the angles of the italics in main and subcopy consistent.
  4. sign expo orlando

I'm giving a seminar on Effective Wrap Design on Thursday at 11:30. This is a design-only class though. Hope you can make it!
  5. Artwork Release fee

We do 95% of their printing as well (collateral wise, I mean, not signage). But I've always felt that we've been adequately paid for what the job is worth, they own it. It's surprising that so many don't want to release art files. That's fine too, and I understand that positioning. From my...
  6. Artwork Release fee

I disagree. We grant them rights to all the files used to create their artwork, and state they have ownership rights once paid in full. We're paid enough up front that I really don't see this as a problem. Plus, it helps alleviate any concerns they have about being 'locked in' with us, and...
  7. Before and After Van lettering

Looks awesome. And thanks for the kind words! We recently began a new section on our site for before and afters. Very powerful marketing tool! Keep up the great work pal! Dan
  8. Painted Billboard

    Awesome!
  9. Getting some business cards printed, What to put on them? Show me yours!

Here's a few dozen of ours: http://graphicd-signs.com/portfolio/stationery/ Design to stand out, not fit in. First impressions count.
  10. Interviewed on Fox Business today-

Hmm, hopefully you don't mean our artwork as 'generic clipart' but rather trying to say its appropriate for the time period it's supposed to represent. I don't think any of our art is generic, but when you're asked to portray a specific genre, you try and stay true to the period (in those...
  11. Interviewed on Fox Business today-

Yeh, they were lagging a bit. 5 mins goes by very fast - I had like 20 points I had hoped to make, and got in about 3 of them. And yep!
  12. Interviewed on Fox Business today-

Guess here's my 15 minutes of fame on Fox Business today in NYC. Pretty interesting experience. Wish I could have spoken more about nephew art! http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/3261214563001/can-your-small-business-pass-the-business-card-test/#sp=show-clips
  13. More Work...had to one up dan

    Thanks so much!
  14. Changing my business name...some advice from insiders....

Try and name your business with something that inherently delivers a positive brand promise. So if someone knew nothing at all about your company but the name alone, they'd formulate an image or brand perception from that alone. We have been doing a lot more naming for businesses. It's a...
  15. More Work...had to one up dan

Not sure why they would feel their logo needs to contrain INC or LLC. A logo is not a legal representation of a business. When you design stationery, that is where you put the full legal name of the business below the address, etc. We've designed about 800 brands and maybe 1 or 2 has INC on it...
  16. More Work...had to one up dan

Looking good! Your client's seem to like using INC in their vehicles/brands. If they insist, remind them that they shouldn't use them in there - for the same reasons why Apple, McDonalds and Nike don't use in theirs.
  17. Even more recent work!

Thanks Johnny! We also did their web site a few months. Nice people to work with. I would say there's probably only a handful of guys that we've branded within a 30 mile radius of our office, so I don't see much of our NJ based stuff out on the road.
  18. Even more recent work!

Its a photo with the vector smart object placed on top in Photoshop. The Bottini project was fun. We got to do a full brand identity package for them. Few more pics here. http://graphicd-signs.com/work/bottini-fuel/
  19. Even more recent work!

Actually none of them are from NJ! Kansas, NY, Oklahoma and Chicago I think!
  20. Even more recent work!

Wraps Ink post reminded me I had a bunch of newer stuff we've done recently that I wanted to share. Still doing a lot of retro work, but also a nice mix of more corporate stuff. The Comfort Crew branding may be one of our top 5s I'd say. 30 years or so later and I feel so blessed to still be...
