  1. Article on Retro Vehicle Wraps

Thanks guys! It's definitely always a challenge trying to outdo your last job every time! Success in this medium is equally dependent on truly understanding the medium, as well as having a great brand from which to work with.
  2. Article on Retro Vehicle Wraps

Hey Guys - In case you don't get SignCraft, I adapted my last article for our blog. The article was about retro themed vehicle wraps, and has some tips on creating them. Certainly I've been having a lot of fun working on these designs lately...
  3. What, exactly, makes sign people qualified to design anything?

Excellent point, and like Rick said earlier, look at my work from 15 years ago. A good portion of the work in my logo books as well, are not in the same realm as what we do today (which is why I'm so happy to be writing a third book!). We all do start somewhere. It also should be noted my...

  5. Print for our waiting area

Wow you guys pulled out an old post! Here's a few more pics of some of office additions (since then).... The surfboard is cool and was fabricated by Greg Reid at Reid Signs. It has backlit LED with a remote that can change colors or fade. He's working on an insane piece for me now which I'll...

  7. Need installer for pretty cool wrap design, west coast FL

Dopey or not, the question is - would you remember it? Even if you remembered them only as the company with the guy with the dopey looking wrench, then I'm OK with it. Because you remembered it. But upon study of early 30's and 40's icons you'll find a lot of similarity in icon style which...

Thanks for the props guys! Means a lot --- :thankyou:
  9. Need installer for pretty cool wrap design, west coast FL

It was intentional. In general, I always felt 'Call' in front a phone to be pretty superfluous, however, the period often deployed the 'Call' before a phone. So I wanted it to be there - just not too much in your face, so to speak. But it could probably go both ways too.
  10. Need installer for pretty cool wrap design, west coast FL

Here's the revised design in case anyone wanted to see what we settled on.
  11. Source for custom dye sublimation printing on fabric

Suckola doesn't begin to describe the depths of its suckiness.
  12. Source for custom dye sublimation printing on fabric

I was trying to avoid sending you to his current web site, since we're redesigning it as we speak. But here's the link: http://typestries.com/ He's a vendor here too - good guy. But when you call him up you should bust his chops and say you almost didn't call him up because his web site was so...
  13. My sexiest illustration yet...

The things we do for money.... Nice pal!
  14. Source for custom dye sublimation printing on fabric

Yes - Rick at Typestries. He's actually printing something for our office today - we are 'wrapping' all our fabric on our office partitions with a custom pattern we did with our logo.
  15. Some recent design work...

    Awesome stuff!
  16. Need installer for pretty cool wrap design, west coast FL

Unfortunately - I had to kill the concept. Apparently a few people associated it with white power/naziism/socialism /communism because of fist imagery. And a few went on to say they wouldn't use the company because of the association. So another lesson to learn is sometimes market research may...
  17. Dan Antonelli makes cover of SignCraft

Haha, thanks guys. It's our 6th cover to date. Been a long time my involvement with SC, over 15 years actually, but each cover has been a pretty special occurrence. Definitely keeps you motivated. Now if I can stay motivated on my next book. Grrr, I'm getting there but either my life was less...
  18. Need installer for pretty cool wrap design, west coast FL

Yeh, it was kind of interesting. Jeff and I researched a lot of war posters (WPA) from the 30s and 40s to come up with some ideas and sketches on this retro brand. We kind of zeroed in the hand and wrench concept - as we've definitely been doing a ton of character and mascot based retro brand -...
