  3. JV33 Head Issues

The membrane on the sides of the damper are there to equalize pressures as the head draws ink through them. To use them as you describe is NOT what they are designed for, as though you have done this with some success, some day you may be on here asking "how do I get solvent {eco-solvent} ink...
  4. Squiggles in my designs visible in Illustrator - affecting cuts

The fact that you are using Illustrator9 is probably your problem. Illustrator is at least THREE upgrades ahead of where you are. The current Ill. is CS4 I believe for the Mac. This leaves you way behind the curve on using the latest features of Illustrator.
  5. Jv33-160 ink issue

I am not running bulk ink as you are, BUT it would seem to me that you need to check to see IF the dates on your cartridges are old. It sounds like the ink {Yellow} is "thickening up", or losing its viscous-city. I would call my supplier, and get them to send you fresh ink.

  8. JV33 Head Issues

Derek: draw the ink through the capping station manually. It is a fairly easy and QUICK way to get the print head clean IF the problem is between the ink cartridges and the print head. There are numerous things that COULD be wrong, but that will possibly get you up and running at least for...

  15. Illustrator and blur? Why does it take so long to save?

I am not sure I fully understand what you are questioning. But if you have created a 'blur" effect such as a drop shadow, there is a LOT of information contained in the file to create the blur so you don't see all the gradations when printing. Therefore, the file is usually very large, and if...

  19. How to drop out back ground from photo?

Is there an EASY way to eliminate the back ground area from a photo so that when it is placed on a different back ground there is NO bounding box that has a white area behind it? I want to take a photo, drop out the back ground, then place it on a gradient area and have ONLY the photo show up...
  20. ok Mimaki cutter owners got a question for you!

First thing I would suggest is that you check the locations of the pinch wheels. The sensor on the cutter reads the locations of each of the wheels and will only move left as far as the left most pinch wheel has been set. I have the CG160-fx, and if I forget to set up the plotter with 4 pinch...
