As a Mutoh dealer, when the new inks came out, we got a memo describing which head part numbers were compatible with the new inks and which were not. Even with the ones that are not, you could flush them and still use them. Dealer should have known.
I think you're thinking of the VP540 not the VS540. The VS only has one head that, if he's using a Roland dealer, will go for around $3k, $2k if you source it form someone like us. He's also in Durango, CO and the nearest major city Albuquerque over 200 miles away so most of it is probably...
Honestly, non-OEM inks have improved greatly in the last 10 years. It used to be the reliable ones were far and few between and even the good ones had bad batches once in a while. These days I don't hear nearly as many horror stories as I used to. It's gotten to the point that the OEM guys have...
I've heard of Rolands doing more cleaning with 3rd party inks for sure but not permanently. Still a sketchy practice in my opinion. Have you tried resetting to factory defaults and recalibrating the printer?
Sweet!
Check your nozzle test. Is there any cross contamination happening? Sounds like the yellow and magenta might be mixing. It would be weird for Cyan to get into the yellow to make it green because they have different heads and cap tops but there is a Y connector that connects the cap tops...
Might be time to change the cut strip. Check it for any grooves that are cut into it. Usually the right side gets used more so it wears faster and you get an uneven strip.
In that case it might be damage to the servo board. I've never seen a power surge break a motor but it could cause damage to the servo board. It could be other things but from what you describe, that's the direction I'm thinking.
Run the limit position initialization function. It will tell the machine what size it is and then it will know it's an SP-540. Your machine's battery is probably dead as well.
Why people call 10 times in a row after the first no answer is beyond me. I'm one of 3 guys in the office and the other 2 guys are related. When they go on vacation, it's just me. I'll be helping a customer and the phone will ring 10 times in the background. When I check the caller ID, it's the...
You can't control whether someone gets insulted or not from a simple request. If you need a file a certain way you need it that way. My vendors all require different information on purchase orders and get miffed when I forget to put it on there. I try my best to do it the way they want so their...
If you upgraded Windows from another version and not from scratch, I'd start by reinstalling Rasterlink. All sorts of little parameters and settings can get messed up when upgrading Windows.
Depending on when your 1304 was manufactured, the main board either has removable memory or hard wired memory. If you have removable memory, take it out and air dust the terminal. Make sure to get all the dust out and re-install the memory. That is a fairly common issue with the 1204 and 1304...
Solvent printers can print on almost any reflective you can find. I've had success with Nikkalite products specifically but there shouldn't be a need to print on clear and laminate. Just print direct.
Vertical lines are almost always a bad encoder or a pinch roller issue. If we've ruled those items out, I'd say change the dampers if they are older than 1 to 2 years just to rule them out. Sometimes they can cause weird issues like this but it's rare. Other than that, it's probably an...
It's definitely an option in Flexi but it's the driver that communicates with the cutter that's the issue. So when you go to set it up in Flexi, there just won't be a port to select that will work.
ValueJets don't use a driver to print. It's a standard LAN setup so that's probably more of a Sign Lab issue. I know for certain that you can print to a 1324 on windows11 with Flexi.
The cutter is another beast. I wouldn't be surprised if the driver was last updated for a windows OS long...
