Glad you stuck to your guns, but hey, you didn't lose a good job because it isn't a good job, they simply are not going to pay & they are only going to get what they pay for so let them have goofy looking trucks.

  4. Van Install ONLY your cost

Good deal Mike, I am glad I helped a little, bidding quantity low always is tempting especially if things are slow, I think some jobs, I am just not meant to get. I had to use my "list idea" on a producer for Lionsgate Films for a movie I was working on, I was shocked how quickly he turned...
  5. Van Install ONLY your cost

Here is what I would do, go to the table armed with facts, make a list of what it takes to get the graphics on the vans for the long term, tell them with your install they will have a hard time telling the difference between a 3 year old van & a new one if the install is done right, make a list...
  6. roland versa works

I like "sign & display", I get nicer blacks & colors, I think it uses more ink but I charge for prints so it's not really not an issue. Print a couple of jobs out using the different settings & see what works for you. Some people make their own profiles, this may also work for you.
  7. Getting the image centered?

Your media is measured by the outer most pinch rollers, the machine doesn't "see" your media, it uses the outer pinch rollers, you have to put the outer most rollers as close to the edge as possible, I usually figure at least 1 inch on each side for the rollers to grab, that would be my media width.

I did a bunch of those with no caps, no problem, just bolt it on & leave it, that's what I do, sometimes if it is being viewed at eye level I put caps on for a finished look, but not for a weather/freeze problem. Alumalite doesn't delaminate like mdo

Uranuim, if you are still out there, I have some advise for you, Go buy yourself a nice Graphtec plotter & cut ALL the vinyl you install in house. You have a Graphics/vinyl business, (& a successful one at that). This is the next natural step for you & in my opinion would benefit your...
