  1. laminating question

We have a roland and compensate by creating a bleed if possible, smaller area by doing more groups instead of one big one, and we do a enviro match before print and before cut. The y axis usually is ok, but he x is off 1/8" avery 4' or so. J
  2. Static on Roland Printer?

I asked tech support and they recommended wetting the floor under and around the printer with a mop. It did cut it down considerably, but we still used alcohol to get it all, so we really just use alcohol unless it's a lot of static. We also only get that with the non curl thin pvc material...
  3. Covering white lexan?

The customer was given three options. We peel and clean the old faces and apply graphics, he peels and brings us the used blank faces, or of course the best and most obvious choice... supply new signs. As typical for this economy and a cheap a** customer, he went with his originally proposed...
  4. Covering white lexan?

I am covering 2 large 4'x10' white lexan faces that have had cut vinyl on both sides and are yellowing. The new image is a dark photo of food items and I am trying to avoid using transluscent due to the cost and no short rolls available. I have had very good luck using orocal 651 to letter faces...

  7. Anyone recognize this font?

I cannot think of the name of this font and have been looking online on a few sites and can't find it. The JC is a bold and Enterprise is a black... I think. If someone has a name for it I can probably search it easier. Thanks for the help, Joe
  8. Vinyl Differences

We use Oracal 651 on almost everything. The cost is low, the quality is high. It's an intermediate vinyl. We have been using it for over 5 years and have had no issues. It weeds well. It lasts in the west Texas sun. The colors seem to match perfectly from roll to roll, and we often tile 24" to...
  9. Trailer Wrap gone Bad!!!

I haven't heard much lately about the trailer. My customer is the designer of the wrap, so she is dealing with the customer directly. I informed her she has no responsibility and that I will handle this if it comes to that. Last she said was that he has been less concerned with the small waves...
  10. Trailer Wrap gone Bad!!!

We did a wrap on a cargo trailer about a month ago. We used the regular oracal vinyl since all the areas were flat. We decided to remove the screws and put them back in over the vinyl, rather than heat and wrap the rivets. This sped up the install and went very well. It looked great and the...

  13. question!!!

I notice the temp of the surface plays a factor too. It is July, so I tend to cover them with transfer tape. Window perf is especially sensative to heat. Lots of water and we only install in the early hours if it's outdoors, but we're in west Texas... hittin 100 degrees now. Hope that helps... Joe

  15. Illustrator file size gets too big!

I was being conservative at 100 megs, I am currently working on it with five photos and it's 118 megs. I am used to them getting to be around 250 megs. My computer is newer and I specifically had this one built to speed things up and found the slow saves are an illy issue, not a computer issue...
  16. Illustrator file size gets too big!

I am having troubles with the file size when I place too many photos. I know I need to learn photoshop, but I am very familiar with Illustrator. I have tried place and then use the include linked. I have tried rasterize. I have tried flatten transperancy. Sometimes the file size does get...
  17. Graphtec ce3000-60 from 64 bit vista

I also posted this under graphtec. I have a computer tech guy trying to get my new computer to run the plotter. The cutting master works great from AI on my current 32 bit vista computer, but cutting master does not run on a 64 bit. The next attempt we are doing is to run from the serial port...

I have a computer tech guy trying to get my new computer to run the plotter. The cutting master works great from AI on my current 32 bit vista computer, but cutting master does not run on a 64 bit. The next attempt we are doing is to run from the serial port. I still need the plug in to work and...
  19. Vinyl Express Plotter

I have come accross an older vinyl express ultra pro 24" plotter. I intended on using it as a back up plotter, but found the software upgrade and cable adapters are not really worth it. I feel it would be ideal for someone already set up and using this same plotter, unless someone has a...
