  1. Preferred wall wrap vinyl.

Our go to is Avery 2611 although you have to overlap because it does shrink. I believe it is a rated for 7 years. It stick to most paints extremely well.
  2. Dx5 print head

I'd stay away from digiprint-supplies. My experience with them was a nightmare and ultimately costs me about 3k. We ordered a printhead and they sent me 2 printheads and charged me for both. When I returned the one I didn't order, they refused to give me a refund and would only give me a credit...
  3. Custom Wallpaper

For us it really depends on the project. For a true wallpaper Dreamscape, Korographics, HP Durable or Endura. All are true wallpapers/wall vinyls and go up with paste. Vescom was our true favorite, but from what I understand they are pulling out of the wallpaper stock market.
  4. Mimaki JV300-160 techs are stumped

I would guess bad cap or bad pump. We had a similar issue on one of ours. After spending weeks and thousands of dollars on a tech who didn't fix it, we figure out the capping station just wasn't sealing properly.
  5. What am I worth?

I would think 60-70k with that much experience, skill set and work ethic in the southeast.
  6. mimaki cjv30- can you use the ss21 orange with this machine, and how soon until SS21 fades?

My understanding is that it is the pigment used to create the orange that causes it to fade so quickly and not the manufacturer. We had the same issue with Epson orange inks.
  7. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

Has anyone found a way to avoid the scratching on double sided prints? We get them on both coro and ACM with heaving ink coverage. Our theory is that the head from sending it through a 2nd time softens the ink and some of that ink ends up sticking to the belt on side 2.
  8. SCAM company miamisignssupply.com

It is a scam. Their address isn't legit. They have 2 on their website. 1 is non-existent. The other is a shared workspace. Sorry it happened to you. Probably an overseas operation using bogus address to add legitimacy.
  9. UPS Shipping

ShipStation rocks and has good discount through stamps.com for UPS and USPS but you'll get the best rates through a consolidator. We go through Worldwide Express. The account you get through a consolidator can be used with any ship software.
  10. How do you guys keep track of orders/jobs currently in your shop?

I wouldn't say perfect, but it works very well for us. We developed it ourselves in house and then tied in plugins for Quickbooks and used NRG extension/service for shipping. The companies that wrote those extensions did the scripts to tie them in for a reasonable fee. For Credit we used...
  11. How do you guys keep track of orders/jobs currently in your shop?

We developed our own system using filemaker. Everyone can see a live status board from any computer in the building or on the large screen TV we have on the wall and they can open any job to see details or make changes. We track, ship, invoice, run CC's and email customers without ever leaving...

Large Format Print Finishing Specialist: The Company: We are a small family owned Large Format Printing company located on the I-85 corridor of north east Atlanta producing signs, banners, tradeshow graphics, event graphics and more for both commercial and consumer markets. We have been in...
  13. Scam-Harlan Hales is back

Anytime someone is insisting on using their own odd ball freight company and wants you to contact and pay the shipping company direct, it is a scam. I like to ask them for a credit card number, never run it of course and then tell them the number is bad can I get another one and then just keep...

    Boy, don't i feel stupid. Thanks. :)
  15. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

We have had our R1000 for about a year. We print a ton of .030 styrene, but have issues with it staying flat and have to still print it on our Acuity UV. Does anyone print on .030? Any chance you'd be willing to share your settings for styrene?
  16. Need Help Tiled Prints Not Lining Up

That is an entirely different problem. Definitely go through epson alignment process although for us it doesn't make an obvious difference. It may help. Play with the tension on the take up roll so it isn't pulling on the material when it advances with each print pass. You can also print by...
  17. Need Help Tiled Prints Not Lining Up

Its not that you are doing anything wrong. It is the printers. They use pinch rollers and those rollers can slip ever so slightly causing it to be amplified over the thousands of passes it takes to produce a long panel. None can do panels the exact length, consistently. If you read their...
  18. Declining jobs based on moral/ethical grounds

I don't offend customers by putting my morals or beliefs ahead of theirs, but I let pricing steer it. That way I keep the door open for future projects. If they want to pay may a premium, I'll take it, but I price it so more than likely they will go elsewhere.
