  1. Special Matte Laminate

I may be wrong, but thermal lam is usually more for indoor use.....are these for indoor? If so, then it's very possible the original was printed on paper with an adhesive back and thermal laminate was added. Don't think thermal laminate will work with printed vinyl.
  2. Cold laminator or heat assisted laminator?

Cold only here...and no problems with silvering. If you're getting silvering, might be too light on pressure. Got a Big Squeegee a few weeks ago, so I'm pretty new at using it. Do get some silvering with it, but it's gone the next morning. We had a Seal laminator where I used to work, but was...
  3. 18" by 9" Car Door Magnets

I'm at $80 for a pair of 12 x 24 one color cut vinyl magnets. Price goes up accordingly with added color(s) Full color is $150 a set with a little design time and $125 for repeats. Have had a few customers try the ones from Vista...they soon find that they paid about what they're worth.
  4. Corel X5 and PMS colors?

You can go to "window" > "color pallets" and add the pms pallet. (there's coated and uncoated) Don't think you can use the color picker on the internet. If you save the internet pallet and import it onto a corel page, you should be able to use the color picker.
  5. Corel X-4 Dockers

can you click on it and drag it back to where it was?
  6. Need installation ideas

Around here the banks just use the swinger sidewalk signs and set them on the curb. These are really easy to steal if that helps :)
  7. Laminating Process

Like Mosh, I have laminated soon after the print came out of the printer. Never had any problems (that I know of anyway) Always heard the problem was that if uncured, the ink could migrate through the back of the decal onto the vehicle or substrate. Not a problem I would worry about too much...
  8. Laminating Process

20" isn't very long to have problems laminating. Don't know anything about your laminator, but make sure you have equal down pressure on both sides of the top roller. Or to get the wrinkles out, maybe it needs a little more tension on the roll of laminate. I have read on here where some have...
  9. What's the secret to apply Vinyl on 10mm Coroplast

Is this a print or cut vinyl? Cast or calendar (probably calendar on coro) I hardly ever use a hard squeegee anymore....really like the felt ones. Have noticed in the past that sometimes when removing the transfer tape, it can pull on the vinyl enough to cause bubbles especially in the flutes...
  10. super gold?

One of my customers is having some shirts printed. I had cmyk gold in his artwork, and the screen printer has it as super gold. It looks more like sunflower yellow in their proof. So my question is: Is super gold ink gold color, or is it more like sunflower yellow? Thank you!
  11. Reflective "ghost image"

Could you screen print the white on the reflective?

    Thanks J Hill !!
  13. font help

Not a very good image, but all I have to work with. Have a few similar matches, but not finding this one. WTF didn't find it either. Thanks for the help. Tony
  14. Question about Rapidtac II

Pretty sure it didn't mean to wet the backing paper...it means to wet the application tape before you remove it from the installed graphic. Wetting the backing paper can be a real mess. Even a few raindrops on the backing paper can cause the wet spots to adhere to the sticky side of your decal...
  15. 3ml calendered cutting vinyl vs 3ml calendered digital vinyl

I have done this also...works well, unless you need reverse cut decals for glass.
  16. cutting aluminum composite - dibond

It will be our little secret.....I latched onto one of the wifes wooden rolling pins and roll it down the edge at an angle. It does a pretty nice job.
  17. ha ha ha... your kidding right?

I also have several that don't know what line art is. A couple weeks ago, a regular customer brings in a pencil sketch on paper that he thinks is ready to go to the cutter. It was simple, so I traced it and made his decals. When he came back in, I had the file open with a scan of his pencil...
  18. Why yes....yes I did.

That's awesome, nice job....hope the driver has some old torn jeans loaded with patches, a tie died T-shirt, and some sandles. Anyone remember paper dresses? One of my sisters had one...and it didn't last very long. I've never done a full wrap, only partials. It amazes me how you keep the...
  19. CorelDraw X3 Graphics Suite - crashing after loading it on Windows 7 Pro Computer

Mine is windows 7 64 bit with corel x3 loaded and works fine. I also have window xp/virtual machine which only runs an old version of flexi with a dongle. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Corel after the adobe install?
  20. CorelDraw X3 Graphics Suite - crashing after loading it on Windows 7 Pro Computer

Since corel doesn't support x3 any more, they have removed the updates. You should be able to get them here > > > http://www.unleash.com/training/coreldrawx3servicepack1.asp If you can find install them, it may help. Hot Patch 1 Service Pack 1 Service Pack 2 Font Navigator Fixer
