You can connect your pc directly to your roland using just a LAN cable. I have been printing for the last month connected directly to my SP540. You just need to set your IP and permissions on your pc and allow this through your firewall.

When you placed the ps files in Illustrator were they all saved as cmyk? If one happened to be saved as an rbg you may get such results.

Phototex is great to work with, easy to apply, no need to laminate unless the area may get wet, no bubbles and removable.

Hey RG, I'm not so sure we can have two settings. I believe once it has been recalibrated thats the setting in place. So far since re-doing mine with the reflective vinyl I haven't changed the settings back. Still reads the standard substrate I normally use for contour cutting.

I'v experienced the same with reflective vinyl. The light when reading the crop marks bounces off the material. You will need to recalibrate the crop mark reader. In the user manual there is a section to recalibrate by printing a square in black on the substrate and working through the menu...

I've stopped using these sensors all together. Placed a small square piece of vinyl over both and just monitored the material. But rjssigns is right check the cover.

Have you tried Phototex? Its a polyester fabric thats removable and i mean removable... No residue left behind. However, being a fabric the sides can fray. I've used the eco sol version high tac for dark walls and light walls. This material is thin and easy to apply.

Print heads seem hard to come by for these.

I do the same as Player has described when replacing captops. Just take your time. Can you take a pic of the icicle and show us? Sounds like it may be caused by dust, or something foreign stuck under the head and is in the nozzle firing line, which is why the ink may be building up. Maybe this...

Have you tried cleaning the encoder strip? I've experienced the same issue before, fixed when I flipped the strip but replaced it a few months later.
