Just calm the heck down jeeze....feeling a little insecure? There are lots of reason no one answered you... I can assure you there is no discrimination of titles here on signs101. I am an unpaid member(for over a year) and sure as shi* I get an answer almost every time. And since I have...
They're right. The only way to get true color day and night is to print two layers of vinyl. It's twice as much vinyl and ink though so we usually give the customer the option. If they are picky about their colors they are usually willing to pay extra for the 2-layer option.
You don't...
Thanks everyone! Your answers are exactly what I was looking for.
I definitely feel more confident that we will be doing this the right way. Went through your technique tips with my shop foreman and we did some tests this morning. One major problem we had last time was that our shop crew was...
I was able to find a previous thread on this topic but it didn't really help me. I've used permanent adhesive calendared and cast vinyl to mask eradicable awning material recently and the edges bled through and seemed to eat away the vinyl. We use CooleyBrite2 awning material with Cooley Magic...
This is ridiculous...the point is that by using the Roland spot library you are leaving NOTHING to chance because you would already have a hard copy printed color that shows you EXACTLY what color will print if you use that spot color. You have to just use the same profile you used when you...
I agree with your last sentence for OTHER spot color libraries but please research the Roland color system library and what it is before you disagree with me. It isn't the same as other spot color libraries. Converting them in adobe would defeat the purpose of using them in the first place. They...
He is using the VersaWorks spot colors which are basically just cmyk with more ink output to get a brighter or stronger color that is inherent in spot color. There's no conversion. VersaWorks created those spot colors with specific information for cmyk output in Versaworks. So you print out the...
Just a tip to....keep in mind that if you are cmyk printing to match a solid spray paint color the CMYK color will be completely different indoors vs outside in the sunlight. So if you are color matching for something that is going to be outside you should do your color comparisons outside. If...
I don't see a reason you can't put the design in your portfolio. Mock it up on a really nice 3D template and show it off. Just because it wasn't chosen doesn't mean it never existed. The design is your intellectual property and you should use it if you're proud of it. What does it matter if it...
Google search mostly let me know that the Eco Sol Max inks (if that's what you're using) have a shelf life of 12months. Add to that the fact that they've all been pierced or "opened" I would be safe and not risk it. The cost of the ink is a lot less than the cost to fix any parts that could get...
It's cute. I would clean up the way the hands and head are drawn - looks a bit sketchy (pun intended). a cleaner, vector style would look more professional. I also find the guy's head looks like a baby's head but maybe that's just me. Other than that - it's friendly!
Intelicoat GFPHOTO (7mil) or GFPHOTO-240 (10mil if you want something closer to card stock)...
Better price than SGP and prints just as nicely.

If you are going to print/cut at that length I would suggest making sure that your print feed calibration is setup for your print media. Long cuts will be more accurate - although I've never attempted a cut that long I've had pretty good results with approx 10ft print/cuts.
