  1. Vinyl coming off wall

just need to use the correct material. we would use arlon pdf8000 has a more aggressive adhesive for something like this wall but there are others. fellers has a whole page in their catalog for rough textured walls

noticing a change over the past few years. everyone is in a huge hurry for their jobs. not sure if they are waiting till the last minute to order stuff or just want to be a pain in my ass...haha I've been in the printing business since 1990 and when i started we had a 3-4 week lead time with...
  3. Flatbed UV prints + Decals peeling the ink off

maybe a liquid lam would help but probably not. uv inks don't really bite in the the material like solvant ink. uv just sits on top and is dried by the lights so a decal on top will pretty much always pull the ink off. when we screen coro signs we need to use a special ink that will bite to the...
  4. cold install

i will also use a 2x4 at the bottom to hold the sign as well as wrap a rope around it to help hold it to the rails. you get one strong wind and bye bye sign panel.

  6. Need Help Backlit and/or Dimensional Sign - help needed

+1 for Direct Sign Wholesale and i have also experienced my customer not going with the job after we marked it up but better to lose that job than give it away and not make any money or have headaches later on. used them for a couple jobs and the work is good. didn't have any issue with the...
  7. Suggestions wrapping tanning canopy?

so you agree painting is the best option. really not confident wrapping with vinyl will hold up if i can even wrap that curve properly (and that's a big if..haha)

have a customer that moved in to a new location and they took their old stud mounted acrylic lettering with them for the new location and i have to re-install it but i did not do the first install and apparently no one there has any info on who did it. any tips on marking and drilling the holes...

  12. Is this Overspray? Need advice on how to fix, please. HP Scitex FB750 video and photos

white has always been a tricky issue. usually the spray helped in our case. might want to check with your tech at this point. sounds like you have done pretty much all you can do on your end.
  13. Is this Overspray? Need advice on how to fix, please. HP Scitex FB750 video and photos

we have an roland LEJ uv printer and noticed that on occasion for us it was a static issue or a print head issue. if it's not a head issue you might need a better static solution. we started using a static spray on sheets before we print. i use it on acrylic, sintra, coroplast and aluminum...
  14. Paving dump truck printed vinyl failing

i have a paving customer with similar trucks. i solvent print the graphics with oracal 3751RA and 290 gloss lam haven't had any issues. i would think if it was the temp of the asphalt it would effect both sides but maybe it's a combo of the asphalt temp and direct sun on that one side?

  16. Short Term Outdoor Floor Graphic (24 hours) - Can I skip the overlaminate?

not worth the risk. you know even if they can't afford the correct material they will sue you for an injury or failure. they other thing is it will be harder to install with out lam, too flimsy and stretch real easy. i would use either arlon or avery hi-tack vinyl (made for rough surfaces) and...
  17. Suggestions box trailer rivets/screws, paint or leave white

wrapping a box trailer and removing the screw/rivets for install. wondering if i should paint some of them to match the wrap better or just leave them white. doesn't look too bad from a distance and it blends pretty good in the graphic areas just not the solid areas
  18. Making Perforated Labels on Versacamm

there is a swatch for the perf cut. i forget how it's typed out for versaworks to read it . you add a line for the perf like you would for a cut line (ContourCut) and you just use the perf swatch. then the machine will do all the kiss cuts and then go back and do the perf cuts
  19. Chrome vinyl curling

try the cast lam but best bet is to get a polyester/mylar lam. years ago when we first started doing digital printing we had polyester lam we used for our silk screened items so we just used that on the digital print items then we had the reverse of your problem the vinyl would shrink but no...
