Did these channels print ok before the tech changed the dampers? Were the o-rings seated properly in the new dampers and did her check for any old o-rings left behind on the manifold? Was all of the air removed from the ink lines agree the dampers were replaced? How were the lines primed after...

If this is your main product, then you have the wrong machine and will probably burn it up to the point where you'll have to replace it anyway. If you only do this occasionally, then using multiple passes is going to be your best bet.

I agree with C5. Airleaks and dampers, then the print head. The only problem I've seen with choke valves was early on when they got stuck closed overnight. A firmware update fixed that.

Sounds like a communications issue which usually has to do with the network more often than the main board. Have you tried connecting directly to the printer from the computer with an Ethernet cable?

where does it say not connected? - on the control panel? In VersaWorks? what exactly does it say? Are there any error codes/numbers in the message?
