I had to do a good amount of "gangsta" designs for hip-hop artist in FL about 10 years ago.

this is the look hip-hoppers go for. I'm sure the client loves it. Which is who is paying the check.

From a design and branding stand-point, it's pretty rough. I've been forced to turn out garbage for clients. It doesn't bother me as long as they are happy and their checks clear.

That said. The colors don't pop, the composition is terrible and selected typefaces leave little to be desired.

Looks typical for the genre and the clientele it's advertising to.

Can't base a design on what you like, you have to base it on it's effectiveness to it's target audience.

Given the market that it's catering to, I really could see it being "Shot Out".
