Just a suggestion but you might try calling Prime Printer Services 888.537.5525. They service vutek and rastek printers and I've found that they are much more honest than EFI.
There are three things that affect bidirectional alignment. Carriage speed (left and right), head height, and the bidirectional setting on your printer. The resolution and pass count wont make any difference. Does your rip software have an adjustable carriage speed setting? Did you change the...
Try printing one strip of black on unidirectional. If you have marks on both sides of the strip then it is definitely not overspray. If you print a dark blue would the marks still be black or would they be cyan? If you move the print over half an inch do the marks move as well or do they stay...
We've been using marabu's clearshield gloss type LL for as long as I can remember. Recently we were told that we can no longer buy direct and have to purchase from a distributor. Does anyone know an alternative uv coating? Our new price is my issue. We're paying $80 per gallon now and we really...
I googled it out of interest. It could be the head cables or the one of the boards. I believe I read that in one case it was the cr board. Check the f2 fuse as well. Was this an issue prior to changing the head. I run a vutek and have a "hot head" (shorted heater circuit). If I were to replace...
Your print just looks grainy to me. 24 pass wont help that. Ive actually never had to do a slant adjust butI'm pretty sure that's you problem. I believe you have to do one everytime you put in a head. Try printing a fine line grid on unidirectional. Compare the vertical lines to the horizontal...
try unidirectional. If the bi directional setting is off the print will look grainy. Also is your head at the lowest setting. Look for a mechanical lever on the carriage itself. It needs to be in the lower of the two settings for better quality prints.
Double click on a file while in raster to pull up the print options. Then go to print condition. One is pass count. You can also set different profiles, heater settings, manipulate the file, etc. The pass count refers to how many layers of ink the machine lays down. 4 passes is faster than 8 or...
Your heat is way too low. Thats why you have the white specs in your print. Put the pre and print heat to around 35 and try printing it again. We don't usually worry too much about the profiles.
I found this

I know its a different printer but the picture on figure 3-4 looks identical to what you're experiencing.
I still think you should increase and decrease the carriage speed significantly. You're problem sounds mechanical and if it is than this would indicate something. The only other thing that I can think of it being is an issue with the encoder strip, sensor, or the the cables/board that...
If the problem was related to waveform/temps then wouldn't the banding move with the print file? You move the file over half an inch and the banding moves half an inch as well. The banding wouldn't be relative to the print files position on the machine. Try slowing the carriage speed down...
