you know the ones, they retain the ribbon cables and tiny circuit boards (2 piece plastic rivet 2.5mm or 3 mm diameter) on the older roland printers
does anyone have a part # to order a bag of 100 or so
they are hard enough to put in when they are new and i am getting blinder by the day...
when i print a full 52" wide, my roland sc545-ex makes an odd "crunching" sound
it appears the ribbon cable is delaminating
i am attaching a picture
does anyone have the part # i need for this?
a good friend asked if we could replace the printed vinyl on his (stationary) awning.
obviously have never done one.
i feel we have all the various equipment one would need (bucket truck, scissor lift, scaffolds, fabrication shop)
what equipment or technique am i missing that would allow me to...
we are replacing a 48" x 76 MDO double sided sign (UV printed about 7 years ago, the whites are rapidly turning brown)
it is 3/4" mdo,my intention is to take a sheet of 5/8" mdo, paint & seal the edges, then have WYLD GFI print it on for me on .040 aluminum, spray the mdo with something

WHAT THE HELL DO THE ROLAND MEDIA CLAMPS for my sc545-ex attach to?
i have repaired dozens of roland machines, but, every now and then i see something i just don't get the point of. are they supposed to catch in the grooves in the direction the carriage moves?
i...
can't figure out what i did with the damn service manual...
our SC545-ex was tracking poorly a couple weeks ago, and i broke the cardinal rule, i changed one of the end pinch rollers. (ALSO, I USED A CHEAP CHINESE ROLLER
FROM EBAY)
everything seemed fine until i loaded a roll of 38" 13 oz...
i just went to order a few retractable banner stands from harbor sales, couldn't locate them on the site & called in
they just stopped carrying the product line this week
i called grimco and they have none in stock.
my customer's request to be able to order and use these on 6/3 seems a little...
i had a 54" roll of mpi 3323 vinyl on the roland sc545-ex
had a crazy week with other things so i really didn't print at all, went in yesterday and after changing captops started printing.
head strike, followed by another. released the rollers , smoothed the material out.
then i spooled about...
i am working up proposals for a new customer, including some "across the street banners" like they had last year (?)
printing 54" on our eco solvent rolands, what would be the best material to order?
we have the equipment to finish (banner welder, juki sewing machines, etc) with sufficient...
i have been considering getting one of the newer generation of roland printers, with one thing stopping me (besides being incredibly cheap)
it kind of outrages me that you are locked out of service menu.
my position is once roland is paid, they no longer have standing to lock me out of my own...
a couple months back, i modified the roland to hold 3 54" rolls
i was inspired by the OCE that can do a roll change all by itself, in the middle of a job
as i get older it becomes more of a PITA to change a full 54" roll so this morning i printed a couple things before running out the door to do...
watch the video
seeing the finish quality of this guy's work is amazing
best use of 15 minutes you may ever have
jburton, you are probably the most experienced machinist on this site, what do you think?
(i can never cut a perfectly straight line, without making a jig first)
i want to give out an award for worst service manual i have seen in 50 years in the electronic repair industry. (better than 35 yrs experience with wide format printing)
the 390 page mutoh service manual does not mention A SINGLE VOLTAGE OR TEST POINT in the entire service manual
for what it...
i see i can buy a 54" x 50 yard roll of eco solvent printable window perf from signworld for $259. (also from walmart marketplace)
is there a reason it is so much cheaper?
any experience with this, anyone?
we just acquired a vj 1204, as a backup machine,, (retiring the old roland fj52)
does mutoh have a free rip? like versaworks for rolands?
we will be printing from flexi, but i was curious
i normally purchase the bulk of my supplies from harbor sales, they deliver every day, no delivery charge
when they are out of stock, we fall back to grimco
i needed a roll of avery mpi3323 ($133.75) they were out of stock for a few days
i called grimco, their price was $184.55. i hung up
i...
a few weeks ago, gino gave advice on prepping primed mdo
i have cut to size, filled the holes & started priming
he mentioned 3 coats of primer on the edges
SINCE I BOUGHT PRE-PRIMED
1 additional primer coat on the flat, primed surfaces should be enough?
one of our major clients wants us to start installing perf at client locations
(bear in mind i have never installed any & would be doing a wet install & although i learn quickly i will not be terribly good at it)
what is the minimum temp that we should be doing this at?
PERHAPS WE WILL LOOK TO...
