The black bar at the bottom is the barcode line; it should be jet black of course. Printed a few dozen of these and the problem was fairly random over the total print. Replaced the black and the optimizer today. I'm 7ml into the black and 1ml into the optimizer. Any ideas? Look familiar...
+1 to these. That's what we do if we're struggling with ANY vector related issue. Or if you need vector for cut lines then convert the offending parts into a bitmap within Corel and export the hybrid file as a pdf.

I don't really understand why the GB option is not more ready available (at least not from Wensco and Grimco) as that sure would simplify clamping.
ETA: GB stands for glass beads - they're in the adhesive and ensure a sufficient thickness
