I have questions as there are a lot of differences from my jv3 to this printer. Heat settings for 1 and profiles. I am only using one for now and it prints at 720 x 1080.... It prints great but I think the ink consumption is going to be a bit high at that setting. I also run Flexi so it...
Not according to Mimaki USA . I called and was told it does not turn off, which is not the end of the world, I juts don't like it rotating when not in use
Why does the take up roll have an off on switch? You press it, it stops until you let go of the button, then it starts again.... makes no sense...but I see in the control screen you can turn it off...but if you do it never turns on... How stupid is this?
Day 3 of the new printer and I have to...
I have Flexi as the RIP. Just found it odd that he was promoting this Rasterlink saying it has better colour management than Flexi. Hey so far the one profile I have ran for the past 2 days on Flexi is great and way better than my older printer so I am pleased with Flexi.
This is what I was told from the technician installing my new printer..... Why do I want it, if I still need to have another RIP to use my Summa.
I suppose I could use it for non cut jobs but why even bother....
All new software in a new computer.... On the last run I grouped all the bojects and it still moved that one piece to the left. This is basically my first print and cut job in this new system and I am worried that this is the sort of thing you don't catch until it is too late...hoiw many more...
I am going to post 2 pictures. I upgraded to the subscription Flexi and I have a new Mimaki printer. This is one of the first new jobs going through and I have never seen this on my old mimaki with the older software.

This file was a pdf file and you can see in one picture the production...
That is what I did... In my thinking it should have been perfect but possibly signlab has an issue with htis as I know I tried this many years ago and it failed then too.
I knew before I even attempted this that it would be troublesome. First I took a square and then duplicated and rotated the second square over the first...centred them to each other and ran the weld that only leaves the middle graphic. Designed the stop sign and printed.
Put down the first one...
My Signlab is really only for cutting only and has no print functions... When I purchased our first Mimaki it came with photo print and the dealer was not a Signlab dealer. The transition was fairly simple so I would like to stick with what I know so the changeover to a new printer, new...
I have a new Mimaki printer coming this morning. I need the transition to be fairly smooth to the new machine ( although I know that can never happen lol) .
I currently use Signlab for my day to day sign work. I set just about everything up in Signlab and then export as an eps to the print...
I have a 48" staedtler stainless steel straight edge I bought 30 years ago for about $100.00. I think I use it almost every day. Knife blade does not get stuck on it and the metal sort of contours to the substrate, unlike an aluminum edge which will not bow at all. I did add some of that...
Here are 3 pics...2 are pretty blurry and those are the ones with the overspray, yet this handicap decal I printed today is absolutely clean!! Strange but true
I buy from the same branch but have not experienced what you are getting. I would think if there was an imperfection in the material you would easily see it before putting in the laminator.. Tha laminator in the pic looks like a manual version that you hand crank? Could you be rolling it too fast?
Just about every truck we were on now have on one side the black rubber line between panels..They are about 3/16 thick and are depressed in a bit. I am never sure if I should just leave the vinyl going over them or do I cut them. I can't see the vinyl really sticking properly so cutting them...
It is very strange. My old Mimkai jv3 is on the way out. I am waiting for my new Mimaki...but in the meantime I still need to print..
I have been getting this overspray around certain colours using cyan ink. It's the sort of thing you don't really see unless you look close or with reading...
went for the demo yesterday and basically decided to go with the print only single head.... Price is decent. The machine prints better than mine so that's a plus. What I am a little concerned with is that these new machines are not vented. I have venting with an exhaust fan built into the line...
