  2. I can't pull magenta ink on VJ 1604... any help?

Yes, this is a normally closed solenoid.
  3. strange banding?

Sounds like a good picture of the problem is needed.
  4. I can't pull magenta ink on VJ 1604... any help?

these are the valves from the cartridges that control the ink level of the subtanks. There are 2 sensors on the subtanks - low and high. You can test the valves in maintenance mode individually under TankValveCheck. And hear each one activate and deactivate. Perhaps one is stuck or bad...
  5. strange banding?

What does your nozzle check look like?
  6. I can't pull magenta ink on VJ 1604... any help?

Normally, you just need to fill it/reinflate it.
  7. I can't pull magenta ink on VJ 1604... any help?

My guess is that you may have a bit of vapour lock in the subtank. See if you can pull the covers off enough to take a look at the subtank bags. If the magenta is collapsed, this could be your problem.
  8. Help with magenta ink! Mutoh VJ1614

You can still do a cleaning during print. If it is only happening on one file, it can be related to profile, wave, etc. One way to check this is to make it drop out with this file, stop the printer without allowing it to return to the capping station and examine the bottom of the head. If...
  9. Help with magenta ink! Mutoh VJ1614

Try another wave. Or perhaps another profile. You can also do a clean during print, that may get you by this job. How old is your VJ?
  10. Vj 1304 error 016

There are a number of 016 errors, what is the exact error code? No way to continue without a restart. A plain 016 error could be incoming power issue or main power supply.
  11. Mutoh Value Jet 1604 error code 074

Unfortunately the 074 CR2 error is kind of a catch all error code, and can be difficult to diagnose. So basically, if there is some otherwise undefined error occuring it will get registered under this code. It can be as simple as a dirty t-fence, a bad motor, or even a bad carriage bearing...
  12. mutoh initialization menu & setting media types

Not sure of your exact question on 'initialization'. The printer should default to the last 'media' that was selected ON THE FRONT PANEL. The RIP will override these settings for THAT JOB ONLY, and the printer will remain at what ever settings was selected on the front panel. If you pick...

Ink credits that you pay for.
  15. Diagonal Banding in VJ1614

I have never seen nor heard of anything like this. Call Mutoh support and have them walk you through printing out all the alignments in maintenance mode. Dry those well and roll them up with an example like you posted and send them to my attention. I would like to see this. randya
  16. Mutoh Valuejet NVRAM

I cannot, and I have the passwords for the MSA.
  17. Error Code (EO74 cr2 current) on VJ1604

If I recall correctly the CR2 error is pretty much a catch all for otherwise unspecified errors. So these are not always easy to troubleshoot. I would: Tape down the head locking mechanism temporarily to make sure the solenoid is not the issue. Then: Clean and inspect the...
  18. Mutoh Valuejet NVRAM

No, I dont know the format, I assume that it is encripted.
  19. Mutoh Valuejet NVRAM

I dont think it will upload properly without the encripted file, it will probably error out, if you are using the proper tools. Have you tried going through a dealer or Mutoh Europe to change the company code? I am assuming this is for ink purposes.
  20. Mutoh Valuejet NVRAM

I dont think that is possible without an encripted file from Mutoh Japan.
