  1. Tbt Truck Lettering

    I miss Internationals, We had a 63 Travelall a 65 Scout and a 70 Travelall
  2. Tbt Truck Lettering

Yea, I guess I see that similarity, not going to grow that mustache back though.
  3. Tbt Truck Lettering

I was trained at Butera Sign School with the hand over hand technique. I do have a mahl stick and used it occaissionally when I was working over wet lettering.
  4. Tbt Truck Lettering

Think I fixed that error, still getting used to uploading pics. Yea, the old timers frowned on the tape, but then I worked for a guy who bought it by the case, he was more into getting it done than style. He was also the first shop around here that bought the original Gerber 4B.
  5. Tbt Truck Lettering

Simple lettering job on a friend's van in the early 80s. Oldtimers will note the pounce powder and yes, I was a user of the dreaded cheat -scotch tape for the top and bottom line. Also, no I'm not that tall, I was standing on my handy dandy tool box/step stool.
  6. Need Help Affixing Signs To Block Walls

VHB and Lexel will not fail
  7. Need Help Affixing Signs To Block Walls

What's not sticking? The velcro to the wall, the velcro to the sign or the velcro to itself? If the first sample worked why not go back to that? The other question is why velcro? If it doesn't have to be velcro there are other options.
  8. Need Direction On Creating 4 X 8 Ft. Changeable Letter Sign - Help!

It would actually be good to know some more details, how's it going to be used/mounted, budget etc. First I would look at pre-made ones wholesale. If that doesn't work you need to know what track and letters system you will use, they vary widely in quality/material and cost. It sounds like you...
  9. I Hate This Customer

Yea, I would get paid first, then either raise my rates to compensate for the PITA factor or tell him we're done.
  10. Gemini Markup

Their pricing includes a retail/wholesale number.
  11. Class/course On Emergency Vehicle Graphics Design/installation

Actually a lot of the police depts around here are going back to simpler black & white schemes. I was told it was to make identifying what types of vehicles are what easier. I'm glad, I never really liked cop cars looking like funny cars anyhow.
  12. Artcam Insignia Software

    Any luck with this?
  13. Removing Lettering Enamal From Bebond Panel

You could try it on a sample piece....but is it really worth it? How big is the sign? I mean, we will try it on trucks because refinishing a truck door is a little more expensive that a new 4x8 ACM panel.
  14. How Would You Install This?

They are probably worried about the warranty on the material, which is probably drivet, stucco over foam panel, an absolute PITA for installations. And their brilliant idea for glue and tape would absolutely ruin the wall- way more than a few mechanical fasteners. The only safe and logical...
  15. Discount For Weeded And Taped Logo

Would they consider a printed version? You could really discount that.
  16. Sign Destroyed Advice

Sounds like you did the job well, so really no responsibility for the failure. Since you said it's a good client I would give discount on the redo. You have the design files already, the posts survived and usually doing something a second time goes quicker.
  17. Acquiring A Computer's Business

Doubt it would be worth much, the files of the existing repeat clients may have value. I would think you'd pick up some of his business just by being in the same location, unless he is successful in finding another buyer.
  18. Sign Destroyed Advice

If the posts are still there it would seem you did an adequate job of anchoring it. Was anything else it the area taken out by the winds too?
  19. Been In The Business For 15 Years. Anyone Else Having Shoulder Pain?

Yep, like has been said, a repetitive stress issue, and then a good jolt will really kick it in. I had to do some PT and then follow an easy regime of stretching/exercise to keep it from happening again, well it will happen again, but at least minimize it
