I always use cast vinyl and lam for vehicles even if they are a flat surface. Not worth saving a few bucks when you have to redo it.
I do see the wrinkling happen when screws are tightened too much.
I talked with an installer who used it. He said it is tough wrapping bumpers because while you are laying down the vinyl and getting over a curve the opposite side comes off. It's a 2 handed operation.
For flat surfaces it would be great. I can't see using it for vehicles especially...
I’ve used both and can tell you the quality from signs2trade is much better as well as quality control. I just received a 8’ x 40’ banner from Signs2trade and it was perfect.
I have had quality issues with signs365
Try printing a sample with pre press and use the generic Roland profile. Make sure you laminate it and take it outside to see the colors. We print a lot of 3M and have had this issue using the 3M profile.
I would save up and buy the same type of equipment you are using now. Why bother with trying to learn a new system as you will have other things to worry about. Definitely go with a 54" Roland printer, Graphtec plotter and either a Seal or Royal Sovereign laminator. Skip the headaches of...
That's ashame as I am hearing a bunch of horror stories about the newer Roland printers. My XC-540 is 12 years old and has run 8-10 hours a day since I bought it. I've had routine maintenance and repair on it but overall it has been great. With all of these issues with the newer models I...
I typically charge $95/hour plus cost of bits. If it is a big job I give them my hourly rate and let them know bits are around $40/ea. It has worked out well. Usually while the machine is running, my guy can be doing other jobs around the shop.
Whenever I have had clogged heads I did a head soak by cutting a piece of coroplast and put the wipes on it soaked with flush. Tape the coroplast underneath to the heads. Let it soak for a couple hours. This has worked for me.
Have you cleaned your encoder strip? If it is clean it may the encoder reader sensor. I had the same thing happen to me and it was the sensor which had to be replaced
I've never gotten 5 years out of Oracal calendared laminate. I'm lucky to get 2-3 years. Anything going outside which needs to be laminated gets 3M cast.
Your machine needs adjusting. I just went through this with my Royal Sovereign laminator. You have too much pressure on one side. Humidity has nothing to do with it.
