There are fuses on the main board. They look like a square grain of rice with metal contacts at each end. You can test them with an Ohm meter. But when you cross wires up, there's really no telling what may have happened to the circuits. Good Luck

You've got two ends of this spectrum - Hard and Soft. Hard = rigid, durable. Soft = flexible and not as durable. I realize that most braille signs are touched very little in most commercial buildings, but the soft ink won't hold up as well to the physical wear on the signs. Good Luck

Do all your testing with Gerber 220 or 225 vinyl and a Gerber foil. Chris is right, that's not scratching and default settings should work fine if you've got default materials. If you have access to Omega software, try printing from that and see if you get the same results. Good Luck

I don't know the why, but usually you can follow the money. CM5 supports Illustrator and Corel as well. As for SAi, Graphtec paid them to do CM4, so I'm sure they did OK.
