Running Flexi 8.1 and when I send an .eps file with a cut line it won't print the print/cut marks and only prints one copy no matter how many I tell the RIP to print....Only seems to happen with files that have clipping masks. :help

On my SC-540 I've found that the initial loading of the sheet is crucial. I use the edge of the printer to make sure the first two marks are lined up with it as close as possible, then do my auto align. It also helps if you're not trying to load a massive sheet of graphics into it...6 or 8 feet...

PF encoder has been cleaned multiple times. Bearing raceways are clean and greased properly. Is there any way I can get my hands on a maintainence manual and do these things on my own? My Mutoh tech is notoriously difficult to get ahold of.

Timing fence (encoder/timing strip/whatever) has been cleaned throughly. I hear a grinding noise when the carriage gets about a third of the way through the return pass during printing. Noise not heard when moving carriage by hand and I don't feel any undue resistance..I almost never use reverse...

Happens consistenty with 60". I can load and print on 54" and it will only do it so often (like when I do a nozzle check). I just printed a bunch of stuff this morning on 54" vinyl with no issues. Loaded up some 60" this afternoon...no go.

No...Carriage makes first pass and simply coasts to a stop before it can finish the return pass: *beep! beep! beep! beep!* then error code.

Thought of that...but I can go through the PF adjustment procedure and get it to read 300mm, but after a job is finished I'll check it and it's out of whack again...Maybe the mechanical takeup is pulling on it?
