  1. Noise from carriage

Hi there! What an annoying sound! You're right about it trying to get to park the head to the proper position. Besides and after adjusting the belt tension you should do an "Limit Initialize setup". This will basically recalibrate the printer's length and capping position. PM me if you need...
  2. Help!!

I run into this all the time. Doing a few medium or a power clean should clear this up. I would put the printer into your weekly clean mode then swab the heads with a well solvent soaked swab. Don't scrub them... just pat them with pressure to force the solvent into the nozzles. Then do a power...
  3. Wiper carriage belt problem..HELP?

Trust me... the belt is not an easy thing to get at! The entire wiper station has to be removed to get at the belt! However, the good thing is that you probably don't need to replace the belt :) At the front of the wiper station you can see a "winged" brass pensioner that holds a small gear...

Tool Carriage disconnection error It could be as simple as the magnet not making good contact between the tool carriage and the print head. Take a look at it and make sure it's making a flush contact and nothing is bent. If it's more than that I would call your tech and have them walk you...
  6. Encoder Blues

Most definitely the encoder strip. As Ragnabrok suggested... use isopropyl on a swab and lightly scrub both sides of the strip. Make sure you get the area above the capping station as well. Then let it dry for a few minutes. Wouldn't hurt to do an environmental match as well. Be aware that...

I recently ran into this with one of my customers. He updated VersaWorks from 3 to the latest 4.11 and also experienced the weird multicolored lines. All his tiff files are from an old version of Illustrator... pre CS version i believe. The fix was to load the tiffs into CS2 or better then...
