For goodness sakes, use rubbing alcohol and not denatured... and certainly don't use cleaning solvent.

Does it pop as soon as you turn the power on or once you start printing? What condition are the heads in? Are they covered with ink dust, the circuit board area is the area I'm referring to.. sometimes this can cause a short at the head itself. Are the ribbon cables in straight on the heads...

Try saving it as a .PDF See if that makes a difference.

Is the program shutting down completely or is the program going to RIP. If it is in RIP mode it won't allow you to access the other printer/ cutter until it is done. Once it starts printing you should be able to access the other device.

Have you tried to draw ink with syringe from the pump side of the cap top while the print carriage is in the home position? The cap top is the less expensive part to try first.

3951GRA is the cast vinyl meant for full wraps. My company car is fully wrapped in it. It's been installed for 9 months and I have had no issues.

How about laminating an inexpensive vinyl first then printing or printing on vinyl and applying the graphic... I know this defeats the whole flatbed ideal but if your having trouble with a substrate.. ??

Convex makes a product specifically for Low energy plastics. Convex high bond. 7yr/ 6mil The printable is only in Matte I believe. If you want gloss you would have to lam. Might be an option for you.

If you do find a used printer you are interested in, get the serial number from the owner. You can then contact a Roland tech and have them look up the repair history on that printer. And, as mentioned above, have the owner do a test print for you... I'm talking about having them push the Test...

The nice thing about VersaWorks is that its made by Roland and is written exclusively for their printers... they know all the ins and outs of their printers and how to make them output great prints. :D
