  3. Versacamm SP-300 head replacement, few questions.

I am a Roland Tech....Put the Roland cartridges in and hit the Fill or Power Clean and .... you do NOT need to worry about the minimal fluids in the heads.
  6. Misalignment while cutting

Stair stepping is not the same as banding. With stair-stepping the print actually is "moved" in a stair pattern... the edges are not straight but in a stair pattern. Banding is due to cheap media, dirty/clogged heads, clogged dampers, or wrong profile. There will be light ink passes throughout...
  7. Flag printing

  11. Misalignment while cutting

Check your cut strip...then install a new blade...check your blade holder.... It's not a encoder strip if your print is printing well... stair stepping is the indicator of a bad encoder. Also, check for flat spots on your pinch wheels...replace if questionable ($62.50/pair) and DO replace BOTH.

  14. Magenta problem!

Connect a syringe to the damper (tube with smaller tube inside to fit to the damper)...as you draw ink look for any air bubbles in the syringe... and use a good size syringe like 3'4" diameter 4" long. You may have a very small air leak somewhere in the ink lines or system. Start at the dampers...

I have a customer with a AJ1000 available. PM me if interested
  16. SP540 Head height

Why do you think it requires a head-soak? If your printer is running properly, with good cap tops, you should have no reason to "soak" the heads. The cap tops are mounted on springs and adjust to the heads.
  17. Roland new launch VS640 !!!

(In my opinion) the XC540 is a better, and definitely a much faster printer. So far with the VS640, we have not had the normal great Roland quality without printing in the Full Scan Mode for all vinyl prints. Hoping new Oracal factory profiles, when available, will help. Roland has it dialed in...
  18. SC-540 Heads

Try the test print in service mode...you'll see a finer test print that may show issues. Wrong head rank may be part of the issue, you'll need to remove the head to get the numbers...then look closely with a magnifying glass at the head,

  20. How do I remove the clear pinch roller wheel

Use small needlenose pliers to gently pull one clip off the shaft. There are 2 small washers between the wheel and plastic (ships with new washers) Replace BOTH pinch wheels if you're replacing as it will save frustration in the end. Pinch wheels are about $62/pair.
